Calculating Totals For Items With Associated Quantities Over Multiple Rows
May 4, 2009
I am trying to accomplish is to associate each product on the Distribution tab in 'E' to its associated quantity in 'F' so I can count the total number of each product and display this in 'D' on the Totals tab. Once this is done, the total for each product would me multiplied by the associated price in 'C' on the Totals tab to achieve the total item value for each item in 'E'. I have included the current results and what the correct values should be. As you can see, I tried to use 'Countif' with no success. I could not find any solutions in the forum that were close enough to this situation to work.

I have 3 worksheets: Income; Expense; Consolidate.
In the first two sheets i am entering, by dates, quantities that are getting in and out of the warehouse.
My code copies that information in the consolidated sheet.
What I need is to make a code that Calculates the "Daily Quantities" and "Rent", based on quantity in the warehouse, that I am paying each day.

I have a list of items and quantities I need of each, such as
cat 3
dog 2
mouse 1
horse 4
snake 2
leopard 4
I'm thinking that it would be a macro that would be way to go for this project.
I want to run a macro that will make the list above the following
cat 1
cat 1
cat 1
dog 1
dog 1
mouse 1
horse 1
horse 1
horse 1
horse 1
snake 1
snake 1
leopard 1
leopard 1
leopard 1
leopard 1
So what happened was that 6 lines of information was transformed into 16 lines of information. My purpose is that I will then will exploring various combination of these items, and thus I think that splitting them up like this will make them more manageable to work with. Since the original list values will change I will not always know how many lines to set aside for the individual breakdown.

I am attempting to build a spreadsheet for work, and I'm having trouble calculating a correct total.
In essence, the bit of my spreadsheet I'm concentrating on is 2 columns:
Column A is headed "Type of Work" and Column B is headed "Completed".
The Type of Work will either be Letters or Memos, and the Completed will either be Yes or left blank to indicate No. For other reasons, No has to be represented by a blank cell.
At the moment, I have 12 rows, going from A2 to B13, with data such as the following:
Letters Yes
Letters Yes
Letters
Letters
Letters Yes
Letters
Letters Yes
Memos
Memos Yes
Memos
Memos
Memos Yes
I need a summary section at the side with the following calculations:
Total Number of Entries
Total Number Outstanding
Total Number of Letters Outstanding
Total Number of Memos Outstanding
However, as I have only populated it with 12 rows of data for my testing purposes, I need to build formulas to take into account the fact that a maximum of 2000 rows may be filled in by other people over the next few months. Therefore, my formulas look like the following:
Total Number of Entries (stored in E2):
=COUNTA(B3:B2000)
Total Number Outstanding (stored in F2):
=E2-(COUNTIF(C3:C2000,"Yes"))
Both of the above formulas work perfectly, and when I enter a 13th and 14th row, the totals update as I want them to, so I have no problems there.
However, I am struggling to enter a correct formula which will calculate the total number of Letters that aren't Completed.
I did set some names and tried to use:
{=SUM((Type="Letters")*(Completed="Yes"))}
but it gave me a #NA error, presumably because the named range was looking at all the empty cells up to A2000.

It is a product list of office stationary with codes, descriptions and quantities. Using this spreadsheet we input into the quantity how many we want of the item, all well and simple you could call the list a stationary order form.
What I would like to be able to do with this Giant list is to have a function that would extract items off the list into a cleaner consolidated form. As in, if I wanted to order some of item A, C and F, I would like for the second table to just Show ACF without every letter in between or blank cells.
I know a simple method would be to have an IF formula to return the information to a new sheet that I could simply remove blank cell rows (unordered items) and ready for print each time. But I would love to know if there is a better way this could be achieved.
I have basic/intermediate knowledge of excel and can setup the data if need be in order for the function to work, but I can't seem to find the correct function for this project.

I attach a couple of files that i receive a few times a year and wish to be able to count the numbers in a more effective fashion than i have attached. Essentially, the source data file naturally changes its numbers each time i get the file so the file that i tinkered about with (also attached) would need to have each and every formula moved to tally correctly. This seems to be a waste of time and would gladly appreciate any assistance. Columns A & C are irrelevant for the purposes of the exercise and can be ignored.
I have to be able to count the data according to employee number groups:
0-19 employees
20-49
50-199
200-499
500-25000
While I have already done this on the attached file you will be able to see that its a long drawn out process. Can anyone advise a better way?

I have a spreadsheet that tracks “points” for hourly associates on a daily basis that totals weekly and monthly. This spreadsheet works on a rolling calendar year instead of a fiscal and I need to be able to capture the totals for periods of time by days.
For example, I would need to view how many points ‘employee x’ has from 2/25/09 through 2/25/10. I have attached the spreadsheet, which includes tabs for each week ending and a summary page.

I am a bit stuck with an excel spreadsheet I do for work and would like to ask your advise, I will try to explain as best as I can.
I am running a small store that feeds 13 buildings.
On the spreadsheet there are 13 sheets, one for each building.
The items will go out monthly.
What I need to do is record the total items from each sheet in a column called All Totals on the first sheet, this will add up the totals for all the buildings.
If I put an attachment that may help out a bit.
If you can look at P3 it is all the P3s to add together, next down will be total of P4,P5,P6.

[URL]...I was trying to use this thread's solution macro on my sheet that is only consolidating columns A, B, and C with a couple thousand lines and I've had it running for over an hour now. There hasn't been any errors but is there any particular reason that might be causing it to take longer than it should aside from having to go through a few thousand rows?
Basically, I only want 1 Version of data in Column B and any other rows that has a match in column B, i want to consolidate unique data from Columns A and C.
A B C
AB 123 AAC
BA 131 AAC
AB 222 CAA
Res:
A B C
AB 123, 222 AAC, CAA
BA 131 AAC

I have attached a sample spreadsheet for reference.
What I am trying to do is eliminate column 'J' on the Distribution tab. I want to use column 'C' on the Totals tab to calculate the subtotal based on matching the products on the Distribution tab in column 'E' with the Products list on the Totals tab in column 'A'. Once the match is made, I need to multiply the associated price in column 'C' on the Totals tab and the associated quantity in column 'F' on the Distribution tab with the result going in column 'K' on the Distribution tab.
I tried
=VLOOKUP(E:E,Totals!$A:$A,3,TRUE)*F:F
and
=SUMPRODUCT(SUMIF(E3,Totals!A3,F3)*Totals!C3)
but neither works and I do not know what else to try.

=COUNTIFS(Source!$C:$C,$B5,Source!$J:$J,$L$3,Source!$L:$L,$H$1)
Where H1 contains the word Assigned. I need to also find and add to count for matches in I1,J1 and K1 which contain New, Pending and Work in Progress respectively.

I've got a pretty large budget spreadsheet my department has used for about 5 years now. I want to add multiple totals for different accounts per sheet, however my problem is when I or someone else adds a row at the bottom(above the totals) it is not added into the calculation. I'm using simple formulas right now to total sums and also show remaing money in budget.
For example:
Cell F117 is the total amount spent "=SUM(F112:F116)"
Cell G117 is my budget total, just a number
Cell H117 is the difference "=SUM(G117-F117)"

I have a sumproduct formula that does a count of my table column based on 2 conditions. However, when I filter my data it still present the same results. So ive been told to use a Subtotal formula. I have scoured the net for the right formula and have come up with the following... though it returns data - it returns the wrong results.
Anything wrong with the below subttotal - sumproduct formula? for us in filtered data sets?
Code:
=SUMPRODUCT(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(TasksTable[HIGH LEVEL],ROW(TasksTable[HIGH LEVEL])
-ROW(Tasks!$K$20),0,1)),--(TasksTable[BD]=999),--(TasksTable[HIGH LEVEL]=GR15))

Based on the photo below i am looking to sum and multiple totals based on information presented.
I am looking to have the Total items calculated based on either the size run value(which in this case is 111, or 121, or 123,or 222 etc, all based on clothing sizes 1-s, 1-m,1-l) or calculated based on the Total from the sum of all the sizes (xs,s,m,l) which in this case is 9. and if that was not enough, then have the Total Items multiple based on the No of Packs, which in this case is 6.
In this example i have managed to get the formula to multiple 1 size run (111 = 3) multiplied by the number of packs (6) to get 18, (Size Run, is a drop down list from a reference page
I guess i need to know if there is an AND or OR function that can be combined with the SUM or SUMIF function.

I am both employed and self employed. so I have built a spreadsheet to keep track of expenses... but I hate having to scroll down to enter more and more expenses. So I have created multiple worksheets...
WORKSHEE 1 "INPUT"
Expense Categories down COLUMN 1
Dollar Amounts down COLUMN 2
I would like to use this worksheet to just enter data from a receipt, then press enter and have this information transferred over to WORKSHEET 2 " TOTALS" on its own ROW. Once Enter is pressed, then enter in the same cells on WORKSHEET 1 "INPUT" for another receipt and once Enter is pressed, the data would transfer over to the next row on WORKSHEET 2 "TOTALS" and so on...
So if I want to see my totals... I just go to WORKSHEET 2 "TOTALS"
I have built WORKSHEET 2 "TOTALS" as follows
ROW 1 is the SUM for each respective COLUMN
Each COLUMN is its own CATEGORY from WORKSHEET 1 "INPUT"
Each ROW would represent a new data entry.
To be exact.....................

I currently have a problem with suming the costs from tables across multiple sheets where the tables are of varying size.
Each sheet, 'sheet1' to 'sheet10' for simplicity sake, has a simple table consisting of two columns, 'Item' and 'Cost'. Each row contains a certain item and it's respective cost. The bottom of each table then has 'Total' in the item column and the sum of the total costs in the 'Cost' column.
However, each table on each sheet has a varying number of rows. This means on 'sheet1' the total may be in B5 and on 'sheet2' it might be in B7.
I need to sum all the total costs from 'sheet1' to 'sheet10' in a single cell.
I tried using the =SUMIFS formula with a 3D Range but I discovered that you can't use this formula with a 3D Range.
The only solution I could think of is to use a loop that goes through each sheet in turn, searches Column A for 'Total' and then adds the cell next to it to a running total.

Row totals exceed the limit for Excel 2003, so I have split the data into different worksheets by year.
Problem is, now I can't create a useful pivot table, i.e. using 'multiple consolidation ranges' reduces the field list to "Row", "Column", and "Value".
I have 26 columns in each worksheet (all identical structures); some are multilevel factors, some are variables - and the way these relate to each other is unknown as this stage, so I literally cannot have the dimensions reduced in the way Excel proposes with multiple consolidation ranges.
