Attached File name : countif for 2 conditons a given month.xlsx

I want to a count with given 2 conditions AA11 / BB22 and xxx / yyy according to the month in yellow cells.

How to total 2 different criteria from the same row?

Here is one option I was trying but does not work COUNTIF((E5:AT5,"D12")+(E5:AT5,"LD12"))/18

Basically I want Excel to count up the number of times the value "D12" and "LD12" occur in the range E5:AT5 and then divide that total by 18.

I have it working to count only the "D12" but am unsure how to have it count 2 different criteria. I am using version 2010.

In excel 2010, I have 2 spreadsheets, the first "Active Total Master Turn" has the data, the second, "Pending" has a reporting chart. A cell on "Pending" contains the following formula:

=COUNTIFS('Active Total Master Turn'!F:F,"RK*",'Active Total Master Turn'!H:H,"Painting",'Active Total Master Turn'!C:C,"

Excel 2010 windows 8

I am in need of a formula to count filtered results. On Sheet1 (Job Flow) the user enters data continually . The most important is the Date in column D some measurements in columns N,O & P that gives a result as a code, example s15020 or c3005 in column Q. A vlookup is then pulls up a price for the code.

On sheet two Column A There is a list of all the codes. I need a formula that will give a count in column B for the amount of codes that was entered in to the data base "sold" for a date filtered time period, be it a week, month or year. In other words the codes in ,column A sheet 2, should reflect the amount of units for the time filter on page1.

I am working with an Excel 2010 workbook that has two worksheets in it. What I am trying to accomplish is I want the second worksheet to scan the first worksheet for a student's name, and count all of the instances that the student has a score less than a certain threshold (we'll say "5" for this example). I have tried using various combinations of vlookup and countif functions, but have not had much success. I did get it to a point where it worked, but only for the first instance of that student's name; it wouldn't continue searching the first worksheet for any other instances.

I have attached a sample workbook as a reference : Sheet1.xlsx‎

I am using Excel 2010. I have a spreadsheet where column A is for Quarter, column B is for Employee, and columns C-R are for Codes (Code1; Code2; Code3; etc. through Code15). One line might have no values in the codes columns, another might have values in only Code1, another might have values in Code1 and Code2, and another might have values in all 15 columns.

A B C D E F --> R

1 Qtr Emp Code01 Code02 Code03 Code04 --> to Code15

2 2012.1 Liz CER02 INS12 WKH15

3 2012.2 Jim PIN55 WKH12 WKH19 WKH23

4 2012.2 Jon

5 2012.2 Jim WKH15 WKH23

6 2012.2 Jon PIN55 WKH15 WKH12 CER08

The worksheet is named "ALLAUDITS" and the named ranges are as follows:

Quarter: =offset(allaudits!$A$1,0,0,counta(allaudits!$A:$A),1)

Employee: =offset(allaudits!$B$1,0,0,counta(allaudits!$B:$B),1)

CodeData: =offset(allaudits!$C$1,0,0,counta(allaudits!$C:$C),15)

On another worksheet I need to be able to count how many times WKH15 appears in the CodeData range within a certain Quarter. I tried

=countifs(Quarter,"2012.2",CodeData,"WKH15")

But that didn't work, and from what I can tell in Excel support, it's because the ranges are different sizes. I have over 6500 rows, so I'm trying to avoid having to name all 15 columns and then do a sumproduct on all of them, such as

=sumproduct((Quarter="2012.2")*((Code1="WKH15")+(Code2="WKH15")+.......)))

Calculation would take forever.

I could just create a pivot table based on the "allaudits" worksheet, but I can't figure out how to get the actual codes as the row headers (instead of Code1, Code2, Code3, etc.).

Attachment filename : <Forum to plot the values.xls>

My requirement is i want to plot the values V1, V2, V3 and V4 from the given condition (A1 / A2 / A3 / A4) and the given date.

If the given date is not available then the formula should take the older date than it not next date. For example if the given date is 10-Mar-14 and the date is not available for the given condition then it should take the older / earlier dates like 09-Mar-14 or 08-Mar-14 like and it should not take 11-Mar-14, 12-Mar-14.

The values should be plotted in the yellow cells.

I have a column of numbers that are already formatted as text. Some of the data is duplicate which is fine. It's like a list of 6000 numbers. I want to conditionally format the column so that I can fill the cell with a color as long as it stays the same number, but if it changes to a new number make it a different color. I don't need a lot of colors. Two is fine. TI have Excel 2010.

I want to create a new cell value based on a condition on each row. I have been successful working with one row but how to efficiently do the same for each row.? I'm working with Excel 2010.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have data arranged in a worksheet (see attachment) that has hours of work broken down by day. What I need is a formula that will find the number of times a record occurred in Column F that is greater than or equal to 12 hours each day. So for March 1st there would be 9 times. I can do that now with no problem using "=COUNTIF(F4:F14,">=12")" However, the real thing that I need is how many days of each month were there only 1 count (of 12 hours or more). So it needs to look at the range of data that goes from 3/1/13 to 3/31/13 and find the total number of days that had 1 count (of 12 hours or more) each day and return the number of days it found.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Excel 2010 and need to get the totals for each month transfered to a separate sheet. For example;

One sheet is called Outgoings (which has all the receipts entered chronologically in rows and apportioned in the columns) and the other sheet tracks the cost per month of each column.

I found a formula online and adapted it to this;

=SUMPRODUCT((Outgoings!$A$5:$A$1000>=41000)*(Outgoings!$A$5:$A$1000

I’m working on a project using Microsoft Excel 2010 and I want to add some features to facilitate saving and retrieving files process.

1.How can I save the daily created workbooks (Assume 15 files a day) in order to contain the current date (and time if possible) linked with certain cell(s) I have at my workbook forming the file name? (XYZ 2-4-2014) and/or (ABC 2-4-2014 23:11) and so on …

2.I’ve been through some other posts and I found VB code which saves the active file into specific path, but it is only useful for single workbook because multiple files are getting overwritten automatically. Is there a code which allows multiple/different files saving & creates daily folders?

I have a table with 2 columns - Gender & Age. Now, suppose I want to know the number of Males in the table with age greater than 14, how do I do that? Can a Countif formula be used for more than one condition or is there some other formula?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using the formula below to count the occurences of relevant text strings (names) in a cell that can contain many separate strings. It works great. "References!$F$2:$F$34" contains my list of names and the formula returns how many occurences there are in each cell.

What i'd like to do know is work in a date criteria. Each name has an associated relevant date attached to it as does each cell that I am looking for these names in.

So...in english what Id like to do is alter my formula so that when it finds a text string that exists in "References!$F$2:$F$34", it then compares the associated date in "References!$G$2:$G$34" with the date associated with N3 which happens to be O3.

SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(N3,"*"&References!$F$2:$F$34&"*"))

How do create a formula that will only execute this formula:

=COUNTIF($F$7:$F$106,"0")

for the rows in the range g7:g106 that are equal to 12 or 13 or 14 or 15

example

f7=0

f8=1

f9=0

f10=0

g7=12

g8=12

g9=17

g10=14

result = 2, because f7 and f10 are the only matches

Below is my function. I use it to count the number of times a value in A9 appears in Sheet2. I would like to edit my function to count the value in A9 that appeared in a given month in U6.(U6 is 12 for decemeber)

=IF(LEN(A9),COUNTIF(Sheet2!A:A,"*"&A9),"")

This is what I thought it would have been but I think I'm wrong because the function is not counting by month.

=IF(LEN(A9),COUNTIF(Sheet2!A:A,"*"&A9),IF(MONTH(Sheet2!D14:D9000)=U6,"")

How do I 'countif' for a particular month of the year?

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm having a difficult time returning COUNTIF values for a positive match between 2 columns THAT meet a certain condition. Basically I want to iterate through column A sheet 1 (ONLY for values where column B is paid) and return a count for every instance there is a match of value A sheet 1 in column A sheet 2. In other words, I'm looking to find the number of ids marked as paid from Column A sheet 1 that exist in Column A sheet 2. I don't wish to return the actual ids, just the total count.

I've tried the following but I know there's an error in iterating through Column A the way I have it:

=COUNTIFS(Sheet1!$ColA:$ColA,Sheet2!$ColA:$ColA,Sheet1!$ColB:$ColB,"paid")

Sheet1:

I am a memeber of this forum for more than a year, and currently assign into a new assignment which dealing an excel file everyday. We have one excel file for moniroting of action items generated by the management after the study. As since there were around 2,500+ rows has been generated since in the beginning of 1990's till todate. So I was thinking of instead of getting the result through filter manually, I want to create a formula that will count of how many has been closed this month out of the total numbers of action items.

Is it possible to use the COUNTIF formula to count the number of items in Col C, where Col B contains a date?

I need a macro to automatically update 50 cells (currently done manually) with the calculation below. The calculation is different in each cell ie a different range is specified but the concept is the same.

COUNTIF(‘SHEET 1’!$A$1:$?$99,”X”)

SHEET 1 remains static

$A$1 remains static for the particular cell - each cell has a different value

$?$ ? moves to next column number each time the macro is run

$?$99 99 remains static - each cell has a different value

“X” remains static - differs from cell to cell

I have a spreadsheet for to control different types of personnel expenses. For every person there are 17 rows each column. The spreadsheet itself contains a named range called "database" which in turn contains 14 columns. The second column contains the name of the expense, the first column the number of the expense (going from 1 to 17), the last twelve columns show the monthly expenses. Every month or so two or three new persons are added to the spreadsheet, and for all the others the costs are updated in the respective column.

I would like to have the monthly total for each expense type below the dynamic range. I already tried using the SUMIF- Function and it yielded good results, but unfortunately, it stops summing after the 1125 row. Reason unknown. Now I've been trying to get the DSUM()-Function working, but no luck here either. I've read the thread "Add or Sum every nth cell" and changed it slightly, so that the DSum() would compare the number of expense to a given value (1, 2, 3, etc.), and if TRUE, sum it up. Let's assume the named range starts in A2 already and the criteria are in E1:E2.

Example: Total for cost type 1 for October (3rd column)

=DBSUM(database;3;E1-E2)

Criteria:

=A2=1

The formula is acting weird and giving me the wrong sum. It doesn't change when I change the cost amount either. Ideally, I would like to have a formula that sums every cell, where the cost type =x, or every cell where the rownumber according to the named range =x (then using the MOD and ROW functions).

i have a list of employess who i need to count each month. i need a way i can say count if >0 for month = Oct. each employee has a summary of there work for a month in a list going down.

example

___John

Jan__0

Feb__19

Mar__50

___Bob

Jan__4

Feb__56

Mar__12

Right now i have a way i am summing up the total work for all the employees

"=SUMPRODUCT(B21:B512,--(A21:A512=A4))" <------'A4=Jan in the formula'

How could i change this to reflect count the employees and not sum the total? The idea is a need to know how many employees had a number greater then 0 for the month of Oct.

I want to use a COUNTIF to return the sum of all the dates that fall within a given month/year. For example: E1 Contains the date July-2009

Column A has date entries such as July 3, 2009, July 18, 2009, August 4 2009. In F1 I want to return the sum of all dates that fall within the month of E1.

i have a dataset which is like a timeseries with 3 columns

first is year second month third values

so lets say like this

year month day value

2004 12 29 100

2004 12 30 200

2004 12 31 300

2005 01 01 50

2005 01 02 60

.....

I need to calculate the quartiles with the condition of the year or the month or even both... I suppose i need something like an array but i couldnt make it work untill now.

formula that will compute contract amounts that are paying out for a given month, depending on what is listed as the contract renew date and how often the contract renews.

Assume the contract date is in C1, contract renew date is in C2, Contract term is a drop down menu in C3 that has two options of text, 6 Months or 12 Months. C4 gives the contract amount. There are then dollar amounts in C5 and C6 that are only taken into consideration if they are $0.00. In B1 will be the run date or the date I want to pull my info for.

I basically need a formula in C7 that will return the contract amount from C4 taking into account these conditions: If there is a dollar amount in either C5 or C6, return "$0.00" in C7. But if C5 and C6 are both zero, than: If C3 = "12 Months" and B1 is in the same month as C2 (I don't want it to take into account the year of day of the date), than return the amount listed in C4 in cell C7. Or if C3 = "6 Months", and B1 is in the same month as C2 or if B1 is 6 months ahead of the month listed in C2 (again not taking into account the day or year), than return the amount in C4 in cell C7. So basically if the contract amount in C4 was $100, and B1 3/1/2014 and the contract renew date is C2 is 9/15/2013, I still want $100 to appear in C7, even though there is only technically 5 and a half months in between the dates of 9/15/2013 and 3/1/2014. I want it to look at these dates and add six months to the month of September and then look at cell B1 and as long as that date is a date in March, return the contract amount in cell C7. I also want $100 to appear in C7 if the date in B1 was a September date. In the situation where C3 is set to 12 months, if C2 is a September date than $100 will only appear in C7 if B1 is also a September date.

And one last thing, I'm going to somewhat withdraw my request that the year shouldn't be taken into account. This is only partially true. It just occurred to me that the $100 should only appear provided the date in B1 is in the same year or in a subsequent year AFTER the year of the contract renew date in C2. So for instance if, C2 is 9/15/2013 and I put in 03/01/2013 in B1, it should NOT calculate the $100 in C7 since the contract technically would not have renewed in March of '13 as it didn't exist until Sept of '13.

I am trying to add a dynamic date rang to the heading of a table. I can find the earliest and latest dates, and want to concatenate them in the heading...

January 1 2012 to January 31 2012

The day and year (and the other bits) are easy, but is there an easy way to convert 1 to January, without going through a vlookup.
