I have written the below code to enter some formulas, validation, and formatting. I keep running into a problem when trying to add the first validation.

I want to insert data validation to a cell by VBA. When i record the macro to put a list (value1;value2;value3) to a Cell the following code is generated and the validation works OK.(dropdown of the 3 values)

I'm working on a simple worksheet, it is a tracking sheet for programs taught. What I'm trying to find is a code to insert a row based on a Data Validation List.
Exampl of data:
Column A is for " Name" then futher down Column K is "Program Taught" and Column L is " Date Taught".
Column K is where the Data Validation List is located with a in cell drop down.
What I would like to do is when a user selects a program from Column K a row is inserted with all of the formulas and formats from the previous row, and upon insert would like it to copy Column A into the new row.
This would be so I can keep a historical of programs and dates taught.
And to really spice things up I want to lock Columns K & L of the previous row after the new row is inserted.

I am trying to insert 50 tabs (at different points in time during a macro) that each has a state abbreviation. I know how to get the macro to add a tab, but to name it, it wants to select " Sheet 4". The problem with this is, the tab that was created might be sheet 15 or sheet 1, and I need it to be able to name the tab no matter what sheet # it is.

I have a formula that works fine in the cell of an Excel spreadsheet but I'm struggling to translate it into VBA (your help please).
The cell formula is:
=If(B2="", "", B2 & " (version: " & F2 & ")")
I want to iterate through all rows in my spreadsheet (about 2000) incrementing the relevant row numbers in the formula @ each pass - eg changing B2 -> B3 -> B4 etc and F2 -> F3 -> F4 etc where column 'B' contains the name of the product and column 'F' contains the version number, resulting in "Product Name (version: 123)" per row.
The closest I've got to this is:

Hello I'm looking for some clarification about how to use "= SUM(RC:RC)". I don't understand what the RC:RC represents. I thought that this was the directions for where to "position" the formula, but I think I'm missing something.
I was able to include the correct cells that I need summarized, but the answer is not right; it's zero.

I am using following code to apply data validation list. However this code gives error Intermittently. The error message is 'Application defined or Object defined error'. Also this code looks little cumber some. Will really apprciate if any one can put some ligh on why is this error appearing sometimes. Do I need to change something in the code or add few extra lines. I have a dropdown list in C24:C50 (=CategoryList) with data validation and a sub list in D24:D50 (=ItemList) with data validation. I am looking for a way to have code automatically run after selecting an item in the data validation dropdown list in column C.
Example; I click on C24 and make a selection. I what it to trigger code that would move me to D24 and open up the data validation list in D24. After the selection in D24 I would like it to move me back and down 1 row to C25. I have not found anything directly related to this but I have found that code can be run after a selection in a valadition list.

code that will be able to lookup a cell in Column J of Sheet1 by using a lookup value on Sheet2. The lookup value can be any cell in columns B, D, F, H, J, K, or N on Sheet2. The tricky part is, I want the result of this lookup (the result comes from Column H of Sheet1) to be placed as a data validation input message for the cell directly to the right of the lookup value when this cell is clicked.
For Example: Lookup Value is "416991" which lies in cell N8 on Sheet2. Look it up in Column J of Sheet1 and return the appropriate value "X" from Column H of Sheet1. "X" will then appear as an input message when cell O8 of Sheet2 is clicked.

I understand that data validation only checks the data upon entry. how to check all the cells or a selection of cells in a worksheet after the fact. I done a lot of editing and made changes to some of my validation lists and now want to know which cells no longer conform.

I'm trying to figure a to enforce dual data validation on a single cell. That is, I need to restrict the user to entering only a decimal value, only if a particular other cell (say A2) is blank. To put it another way, if A2 is blank, the user can enter a decimal value, but if A2 is not blank, the user cannot enter anything. I can use Data Validation to enforce either the decimal restriction or the ISBLANK, but I'm not sure how to make them work together.

I have an excel spreadsheet set up as shown in the attachment. When I insert data by using the macro (Insert farm), for some reason it puts a NA in a cell (C17).
I then select the cell click into the formula and click enter and it works. how can this be fixed. Look at the excel spreadsheet to be able to understand.

Template is created where the users copy/paste the data from other file. Data validation has been performed with the following steps:
1. Macro inserts the vlookup formula into column A, which isused for validating data that is entered by user from column B to E.
2. If the data is incorrect the N/A will be displayed in column A and invalid data will behighlighted in red color in column B.
3. This validation goes through the loop and after the loop is finished the pop message will be displayed and macro should stop so the user can correct the data.
4. After the user correct the data, the macro needs to run again to make sure there is no further errors. If there are no errors, thehighlighted cells should be cleared out of color and pop.

lately I have promised to program a little macro which looked easy for me to do but on which I have now spend a considerable amount of time without finding the problem why it is not running. I am working under Windows XP with Excel 2010, here is what i was trying to do:
In a worksheet there are two columns G and H. In both columns it shall be possible to select a number of possible entries from a list. For column G this is done via data validation, no problem. Now, the choices which are there in column H shall depend on the entries made in the appropriate row of column G. Column G thus functions as an overarching category. If I choose "Tree" in G, H would give me branches, leaves, apples. If I choose "car" the choices would be wheel, engine, gasoline etc. This shall be done by a Macro:

I've got a problem that's causing me a headache. i have a document with 1 column and 4000 rows (its an export from active directory).
I need to do a search cell by cell (so A1 - A4000) for any cells that contain the text "changeType". When a cell is found, i need excel to insert a new row above the current cell and insert the text "modify" into the new row (in the first column).

I am currently working in an excel file for which i want to create a macro. I am using colomn F as the base from which it should be determined whether a row should be copied. In colomn F the user can select three options through data validation. If 'completed' is selected, the whole row should be copied to the second sheet, and each copied row should be pasted to the next empty row. The data on the source sheet starts at row 11 and should be copied to sheet 2, starting from row 11 as well.

I have a Data Validation list in cell A1 of a worksheet called LIST. I would like to modify the macro that I have recorded, the macro uses data from various worksheets. I would like to sort out some code so that at certain points in the macro it will select the worksheet that is shown in cell A1 of the LIST sheet and then carry out the code already recorded. THis will allow me to quickly change a sheet name that is refererred to in the macro numerous times without actually manually editing the sheet name in the macro code.

I am trying to write a formula to insert in a macro for multiple lines of data.
Column B contains the date that I am comparing the date in Column C against. I want to be able to highlight the content on that row if the date in column C is greater than or equal to column B. how to write this?

Worksheet excel with multiple lines and colums. I need a macro to automatically insert a new Line where the cursor is located, and duplicate data from previous cells: let say cursor is located L10, macro will insert L11, and duplicate L10 -C1 data to L11 -C1. I have a macro that does this function, but the Line insertion is always at the same line.May be the macro should "read" first the cursor position, Lx and then move down +1 line prior to duplicate the data.

I have a VBA macro for Excel 2007 below that loops through a workbook and deletes a picture (shape) in a range at the top of each worksheet.
The macro works fine until a cell which contains a seemingly unrelated data validation list on Sheets(1) is changed. The macro then repeatedly trips up with a 'Run-time error 1004 - Application defined or object defined error'.
The cell with the data validation is outside of the range in which the shapes are deleted and does not set any of the variables in the macro.

I would like to delete a column using data validation list. for example :
i have a data validation INPUT list in cell A1 (Part No., Supplier 1, Supplier 2, Supplier 3) the heading start from B2,C2,D2,E2,F2. If user select Supplier 1 from data validation list in cell A1, the column Supplier 1 [c2] should be deleted.
