I am looking for a way to add cells to a master workbook from matching cells in various other workbooks. The master will have the complete list of store numbers. The other files will just show the store number that had returns. I need to add a new column to the master workbook for each of the other files. If that makes sense?? So the master report header row will have: storeno,storename,3-1-06,3-15-06,4-1-06,4-15-06, etc..... Then column a will be a listing of the store number 1 -200.
I have a very large spreadsheet of customer information(I call it the master spreadsheet). Each row contains only 3 things: Account number, product bought, Price
Later I receive the money from the customer for that product(the pay sheet) that contains the exact same thing in the same order: Account number, Product bought, Price paid.
What I'm trying to do is compare the two spreadsheets so that when i receive the pay sheet of cusomters who have paid with the amount it will deduct it from the master sheet.
So it should compare account numbers when it finds a match then it should subtract the amount paid (column C) from the master spreadheet price column(column C also).
sometimes customers don't pay the right price so it has to be a subtraction so I can see if it was over paied, underpaid etc.
Right now I'm still doing it manually combining the two documents sorting it by account number and checking for matches in column A (account number).
I have a one excel workbook with columns customer id , customer name, customer address and another excel work book with columns customer id , account name, account type.
I am in need to produce a new excel workbook with datas from above said 2 workbooks with customer id column as reference by macro programming in excel.
So the new workbook should have data from the columns customer id, customer name and account name
I have 2 worksheets, A and B. In both worksheets there is common data in column A (account ID). I would like to find a way to return all of the data for the matching row in worksheet B and have it pasted into the matching row in worksheet A.
So in the example below, I am looking for a function that will match on Account ID in both worksheets and then paste the results from Dataset 1, 2 and 3 into the row with the matching Account ID in worksheet A.
Worksheet A Account ID Column to paste matching rows from Worksheet B
1
2
Worksheet B Account ID Dataset 1 Dataset 2 Dataset 3
see teh attached file, you can see on the file. Worksheet B of B62, I typed 15254", it col name "yarn count" and the product code you can see is Q921 at cell A62. Worksheet A, you can see F2 is Q921, col name is "product code". Now I just plugin a vlaue B62 ='15254' and I want it shows on worksheet A - G2 but remember it must match the product code of worksheetB - cellA62 'Q921' and worksheet A cell F2 'Q92' because next time user will plugin a number ie.1111 on B164; where product code of worksheet B - cell A164 must be match to worksheet A - cell F3, but it should show the value 1111 on cell G3.
I'm trying to compare 3 different worksheet in the same workbook and copying the unmatched values into a new worksheet. find the attached file. In the sample file, am comparing sheet1, sheet2 and sheet 3 with sheet1 as the base. the columns mite differ in their location but the column headers are same.. The difference, bolded cell, should be copied along with the header and the code, into a new file and has to be saved...
Spreadsheet 1 is an Excel Spreadsheet. Spreadsheet 2 is a CSV file downloaded daily from UPS. Spreadsheet 2 contains the UPS tracking numbers in a column called Tracking Number. Both Spreadsheets contain a Ship-to- name column. Is there a way to automatically take the UPS tracking numbers from Spreadsheet 2 and place them in a column called Tracking Number in Spreadshhet 1 by matching the Ship-to-name columns between the two spreadsheets?
Code: Private Sub GetColData() Dim SrchRng As Range Dim SrchVal As Range
[Code]...
And it is also possible by using Column Number to retrieve the data SrchTxt, which is in a cell in the Row, in which "Roy" is found. This Row in this example is Row 5. Column Number may be anything within the search Range. Column Number is 3 in this example.
In Sheet1 "Poet" is in C1. (SrchTxt)
How to retrieve data of the cell in Row 1 in the column where "Roy" is found?
I would like to create a sheet that looks in a certain folder with several .xls files and pulls data from certain cells ( not necessarily next to each other) automatically with out opening each workbook in the target folder.
Each workbook is laid out the same, based on a template, and emailed to me each day (I'll actually get 3 or 4 a day, one from each plant) So the number of files will grow every day. (I've read about a way to automatically save the file based and the date, hour, and minute, and email the file when a certain condition is met, and plan to use this technique in the template.) So the file names should be consistent.
As an example, I would like cell A1 to contain the date from the oldest file and increment row by row as the files come in, automatically. Then the cells B1 on across would contain data from certain cells within the .xls file with that date and time.
Every time that workbook is opened it would update to include data from any new files in the specified folder.
I've done some basic vlookup formulas to look at one particular workbook but not several.
have a formula or something along those lines that will look for the data you type in to the selected cell and will show you on how many workbooks it has been entered in. For example, I have workbook a, b, c, d, e, f. all have 12 sheets. On these 12 sheets there is a place to enter the serial number of an item. What I would like to be able to do is on a different workbook be able to type in a serial number and have it show which workbooks it has ever been typed in and its location on said workbooks. and if possible the results of the item which would be whether it was accepted or rejected( this bit is not totally must have. but the workbook and sheet location is a must.)
I am trying to build a staff roster. The staff rotate over a 4 week cycle. the name of the staff member, and their shift needs to be looked up from the key then matched with the particular week. the name and shift then need to populate specific cells.
I have attached the worksheet so you can see what i am trying to achieve.
I have two open workbooks, the first is called "Original Data.xls", the second "SIP.xls".The "Original Data" workbook contains a sheet called "Data" which has a list of information in the column range 'B:H', starting at row '4'.The "SIP" workbook contains a sheet called "Staff" which has a list of unique ID's in column B, starting at row 4.What I'd like to be able to do is compare the unique ID's in column 'B' of the "Data" sheet to that of the unique ID's in column B of the "Staff" sheet. NB.
There could be multiple records for the same unique ID in the "Data" sheet, but they will only occur once in the "Staff" sheet. If a match is found, I'd like to copy the row from the "Data" sheet and paste this to a sheet called "Matched", starting in B4, also contained in the "Original Data.xls" file.As each match is found I'd like to paste this into the next available line on the "Matched" sheet, and I would like, if at all possible, for the macro to continue checking for multiple entries until column 'B' in the "Data" sheet is blank.
I have workbooks based on the date. Here is an example "Daily Numbers Report - Summary_2014_02-18-06-02-30"
All of the files are formatted this way. Then, in a master file I have dates going horizontally for the entire year in the following format Tue Jan 15, etc. How could I do a lookup that would grab from all of the open files and match the date BUT subtract 1 day from that date for all the lookups, so Feb 18 would look at 2-17?
I want a macro to compare each value on workbook 1, Sheet "Destroyed", column "C" against each value on workbook 2, Sheet "ERT Master", column "B". For each instance where the value on workbook 1, matches a value on workbook 2, the row where the match is found on workbook 2 needs to be highlighted in yellow from columns A to H. This needs to be repeated for each value in column "C" of workbook 1.
My task is to combine two large databases into one spreadsheet by extending the number of columns. The data from each database is 90% matching based on an identification number, however occasionally there are additional rows or unmatched identification numbers that need to be kept for analysis.
When this happens, there needs to be a blank row inserted to represent the missing data in the rest of the corresponding row.
I am having trouble finding a quick way to do this because I have approximately 12,000 rows (and columns up to DV when combined).
for example:
p1 data data data data p2 data data data data
[Code] .....
needs to become:
p1 data data data data
[Code] .....
I am guessing I will need a macro of sorts, So far I have made one column that tell me if the ID's are matching or not (1 or 0) and if they are not matching (0) I manually insert the rest of the row that is missing or make space for the duplicate data (which needs to remain).
I have a grid that I need to lookup and return the project hours for each system from the data set. The grid has the projects listed in the rows and the systems listed across the columns. The data set has a list of each projects systems hours. I am having problems with the formula when the data set has multiple records (multiple systems) for each project. It seems very simple, but I just can't get my arms around it. Please see the attached for example.
In column "AT" I have a list of matchups between 2 soccer teams that looks like this
Row 1:Manchester UnitedArsenal Row 2:Chelsea FCLiverpool Row 3:TottenhamAston Villa Row 4:Hull CityLiverpool Row 5:Everton FCSunderland Row 6:Bolton WanderersManchester United Row 7:PortsmouthTottenham Row 8:Birmingham CityStoke City Row 9:WiganBlackburn Rovers Row 10:LiverpoolFulham
In columns "AM" and "AN" I have a rating for the home and away team. So for example, AM row 3 would show the rating of Tottenham and AN row 3 would show the rating of Aston Villa.
Now what I want to do is set things up so that I don't have to enter every teams' rating in manually. I need a formula that would look from bottom to top (row 10 to 1), find the first row that contains Tottenham (for example), and then look to the right to either column AM or AN (depanding on if Tottenham is the first team in the matchup or second) and return the value in that cell.
I have a need to match a reference cell to a list of cells. How do I get it to match the exact contents of the reference cell, not just whichever is closest? I'm attaching the sheet, it's important that the contents of A13 match a string in the AG column exactly or return a null or "none" or whatever.
I am trying to track cost. A master purchase order sheet has a column with a number relative to an account. I have about 50 accounts and a seperate sheet for each account. I want to enter the account number on the master purchase order sheet and based on that number, have the following data on that row copied to the next available row in the sheet for that account.
I am trying to track a score. A master capacity sheet has two columns with identifiers (upstream and downstream nodes) relative to a pipe segment. I have a separate sheet (condition sheet) with the corresponding scores. I want to enter the upstream and downstream node numbers in 2 columns (A & B) in the master capacity sheet, and based on the the upstream and downstream node numbers, have the corresponding score (from the condition sheet) on that row copied in the master capacity sheet.
Im trying to work out how to write some code to find and replace from a list.
I have key data in column P on sheet 1, and a list on sheet 2 with the same key data in column C.
Basicially, every month the data on sheet 1 changes (there are usually 100 rows of data each month) and what i want to do is, write some code to look down column P on sheet 1 and for every cell, find the corrosponding value on sheet 2 (column C). When it finds the value, copy and paste it onto sheet 3 then delete the row from sheet 2.
I hve written some code that can do the first part (copy and paste) and a second macro to do the deleting....but it is only for 1 value at a time...
I have two tables, Table1 one has only customer codes in it, and I have Table2 with plenty of customer codes and those customer name, surname, age, location...
And I want to match and copy each of those customer codes in Table 1 all the information which is on Table2
Table 1: 50025 50026 50086
Table 2: Considering that name, age and location is each in separate cell
I have an items list on page 2. On page 1 I want to create a drop down menu in C2 that references the list on page 2. Then when I choose an item, I want the additional information in cells D2 and E2 to come in automatically. The list on page 2 will be expanding daily, and when I expand it I can simply insert a new row so I correctly alphabatize it instead of constantly having to resort it.
With that said.... 1. How do you put in the drop down box that references information on a different sheet?
2. What is the best way to reference the information in my ever expanding situation: Index/Match, Vlookup, Lookup, or something I havent mentioned?
