New Tab Within Excel Automatically?

Is it possible that excel can copy a template tab and create a new tab automatically when requested?

I am trying to create a spread sheet to log all spends within the department but need to be able to generate a front sheet for each purchase order request. I have attached the spread sheet and have highlighted what I am trying to create.

I have never used visual basics so am completely in the dark, can excel do this sort of thing?

I am running a consolidation macro that keeps getting tripped up on a message box from excel. It is erroring out each time this box would normally pop up. It is not displaying the box, nor do I want it to. I just want it to not error by maybe invisible being set to 'yes' for this.

The message is due to data validation that is pointing to named ranges.

Message:

A formula or sheet you want to move or copy contains 'ThisName', which already exists in the destination worksheet. Do you wish to use this version of the name?

Size Of Excel File Changes Automatically?

We are using an excel file, which doesn't contain more then 1MB of data and have few "count and sum" formulae. but size of file keeps fluctuating from 1MB to 500MB. some time the size of file would be 1MB and once you will refresh the window file size will go to 480MB or some random number.

because of this excel file is quite slow and very difficult to work.

Automatically Populate 9 Box Grid Using Excel Data

I'd like to automatically populate a 9 box grid using data from Excel. The number of names for each rating can be anything from 1 to 100 so the size of the grid would need to be adjustable. I would like one table for each function and grade. Attached is what I'm trying to do. In the 'example tables' sheet, I've shown how I'd like the tables to look, but with my live data the tables would be bigger so I'd like to do one table per worksheet (or possibly one function per worksheet - so 3 tables).

I have a Table ("Table2") in a worksheet ("Dashboard") that contains monthly data arranged in rows. I have made the data fields show #NA for months I want to exclude based on dynamic criteria.

Now, I would like to automatically filter out the rows (months) with #NA so that they are not charted.

It works manually but I have to Right Click on the Table --> Filter --> Reapply every time the source data changes. How can I make this happen automatically so that the user does not have to manually reapply each time.

Importing Data From Another Excel File Automatically

I am trying to have the total (cell e78) from one of my own excel files automatically filled into a cell in a different excel file when the number of that file is typed into a third cell.
i.e. if the total on Ticket 4126 in cell e78 is $4500, then when I type 4126 into the Ticket # cell on my seperate Invoice I'd like it to fill in the third cell under Amount as $4500.
Is this possible?

I use a system which produces excel spreadsheets similar to this example (although much larger than this!). This makes it extremely difficult to carry out sorts and to tidy up the spreadsheet - generally I have to do this manually. Excel Checkboxes To Automatically Check If There Is Anything In A Cell?

So I have an 2 ActiveX button and 2 ActiveX checkboxes. I have it set up so that the Split button will enable when both checkboxes are checked. The ClearAll button has a code/macro in it that will check the "Cleared All" checkbox when the Clearall button is pressed.

My problem is with the "Populated Data" checkbox. I want it to check/uncheck itself if there is anything in Range("A1") of a tab called "Data".

The names of these buttons/checkboxes are

"Cleared All" = ClearCheckBox
"Populated Data" = DataCheckBox
"Split" = SplitButton

Excel 2007 :: Macro Won't Recalculate Automatically?

A certain macro (or is it a VB script?) in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet has to be manually recalculated every time I open the file. The only way I've found to do this is to click in the formula bar and hit Enter, or else click the green check mark to accept the formula. The spreadsheet is set to recalculate automatically, so I do not understand why this is happening.

Another wrinkle is that I can't locate the specification/definition of the macro. I checked the Developer menu on the ribbon and looked in the Visual Basic and Macros lists, but could not see the definition of the macro in question. Another user created the spreadsheet but I am unable to contact him...

Macro To Save Certain Sheets From Excel Automatically

I'm not sure if this is possible but I want to be able to click print and after it has printed, transferred and cleared I would like it to save the purchase order and continuation sheet.

If this is being done on different computers is it possible for it to simply bring up the dialog box and the user save it where they would like?

Automatically Populating Tables Between Excel Sheets?

Sheet one has seperate logs for each item received in January and the reasons they were returned - so if you can imagine ( note / demonstrates column seperation) the following column headings: Date received / item description / approved within 1 day / returned for high risk.

On sheet 2: i've got a simplified data table which tells me that in January, there were 10 occurances of items approved within 1 day; and 8 occurances of items returned for high risk.

So sheet 2 looks like this:

01 Jan 2012 / 31 Jan 2012 / approved within 1 day / returned for high risk

I'm trying to get it so that any data input into sheet 1 for January will automatically update these columns in sheet 2.

This is what i've attempted to do:

what is the sum of the "1's" demonstrating occurances of "approved within 1 day" in sheet 1: Sheet1!J15:J179

if the date received in sheet 1 is between 1 Jan 2012 and 31 jan 2012 sheet 2: TODAY(Sheet1!D15:D179>Sheet2!A14
So at the moment i've got:

=SUMPRODUCT(Sheet1!J15:J179)*TODAY(Sheet1!D15:D179>Sheet2!A14

Excel 2007 :: Formulas Not Automatically Calculating?

Using Microsoft Excel 2007 and all of a sudden, my spreadsheets are not automatically calculating the formulas. It does not matter if I have other workbooks open or not. I still get the problem. It does not happen 100% of the time to make it even more complicated.

- Calulation set to auto in Excel Options.

- No VBA functions being used. I can the worksheet summing 1 + 1 and get the error periodically. It does not have to do with the spreadsheet being too complicated.

- Even if I can hit Ctrl-Alt-F9 to force the formulas to calculate, it won't work.

The excel has 4 sheets.

The third sheet is named "new items".

In this sheet in COLUMN K i have numbers and empty cells.

What i would like is when in COLUMN K number "7" exists then copy the enire row- and all other rows with "7" to a new excel named "new items" and send an e-mail to specific receipients with "new items" attached.

I will change the code above in order to run this macro by workbook.open()

Plus i'm thinking of adding a message box if no "7"'s exist.

I want to prepare a graph / chart for the column A and column B. Column A has headers and B has the data that I want to represent in the graphs. The real problem in this is that the two columns length is not fixed. For eg. for January Column A & B could have 5 rows of data but for February they could have 10 rows of data. I dont want to prepare the chart manually every month. I want that if we could apply any VBA coomands that could prepare the chart automatically irrespective of the rows count.

I'm designing a workbook to track psychiatric patient data. The workbook has identical worksheets for each month of the year (Jan, Feb, Mar, etc.), plus an Admin sheet for overhead. I need to devise a formula that will automatically detect 30-day readmissions (i.e., patients being admitted to the hospital within 30 days of a prior admission) and return a "Y" for a readmit and an "N" for a discharge or first-time admission. I have tried several variations on SUMPRODUCT with multiple conditions spanning multiple sheets (using INDIRECT and a monthly worksheet index -- A1:A12 -- on the Admin worksheet), but the results always turn out...wonky. (Sometimes a correct value is returned, and sometimes not. I can't figure out what is causing this inconsistency.) The relevant ranges from the monthly worksheets are:

B3:B52 : Date of evaluation
H3:H52 : Unique patient ID number
Y3:Y52 : Patient disposition (i.e., admitted or discharged)
AC3:AC52 : Readmission status (i.e., yes or no)

The formula should only return a "Y" value if a) the patient was previously admitted within 30 days of the evaluation date, and b) the patient was also admitted on the evaluation date.

I am using Excel 2003, so SUMIFS is not available.

I'm trying to make a spreadsheet template that will find and replace all instances of a given word with a bold or highlighted version. However, I do not know how to make this process passive and automated. That is, as soon as I type certain words, they should be auto-corrected. Is there a way to set excel so it will recognize certain words and replace them? Is there a way to do this in the settings? I don't think a macro is the right answer in this case, so I put it in the general thread.

I'm using Excel 2010 and have run into the following problem. I have data in a text editor that I need to separate. I copy and paste this data into Cell A1, then do a "Text to Col" function that separates the data correctly. Now I have other data to paste into other cells on the same sheet. Here's the problem....The "Text to Col" function runs automatically when I paste other data into any other cell on the WS. How do I turn this off without closing the WS?

I want to pull 'values' from a website off into column's "A" "B" and "C."

What I am looking for is:

Column A: The current date!
Column B: The closing VIX value of the day!
Column C: The 10-day-moving average value of the VIX for that same day!

All values come from this website: [URL].......

What would be the formula for this? Or how would one go about this? And preferably the time to pull these values would be at alterable, but ideal time is hard to choose right now... Need to think about it!!!
