Populate Data In Table Based On Dropdown Criteria?
Jul 7, 2014
I've been trying to get a table to populate based on a couple of criteria. However, I've not come-up with the solution yet.
I have my dropdown selections in cells C2 & C3. The objective is to populate the table below the dropdown with data from the sheet named (very unimaginatively) 'Data'. Currently you see the selection AA-11 & Mar-14 in the Contract ID & Month cells. If I change this, the table below should auto-populate.
I've attempted using Vlookup, Index-Match. But it does not give me the desired result.
Also, the number of Products can change each month (although the file shows 4 for each month & each Account).
I have a list of staff in cell A1 in a drop down list. In cell A2, I would like Excel to populate automatically the branch from which the staff is from when I choose the staff name in cell A1.
I have a spreadsheet that is updated weekly -- but every week new info is added that needs a user to input corresponding info. I use a vlookup function to link to another spreadsheet that populates the info from previous weeks and the info that is missing shows up as #N/A...
First I was using a msgbox function to get the info:
HTML Code:Â
For Each b In myrange If Application.IsNA(b.Value) Then Employee = b.Offset(0, -2).Value SSID = InputBox("Please enter ID# for " & Employee & " :", "New Employee Found") b.Value = SSID End If Next b
But it can be up to 30 different new employees... and that is time consuming.
I would like to make it more user friendly by creating ONE userform that displays all of the employees as labels -- has a text box in which to put the ID # -- and then has a drop down box to choose the type of employee (2 options). I want all of that info to go back to the reference spreadsheet so it will be saved for following weeks, and then redo the vlookup to get the info into the new weekly spreadsheet (I can do that part)....
HTML Code:Â
Private Sub CloseButton_Click() Unload UserForm1 End Sub
From the excel spread sheet, while selecting from the drop down list (Deployment Model) from attached Workout sheet, the corresponding table should be highlighted from given tables and populate the same table in the Recommendation sheet from the same excel.
I am attaching sample sheet for your reference and easy understanding about the requirment.
Activities to be carried out:
Go to Workout (Sheet) --- > Select from drop down list (C2) -- > Based on Projection Volumes, list ----> It should highlight the corresponding table from below --> Pick up that particular table and Populate the same in Recommendation sheet (with out formulas, only values should come in tabular format)
I have a validation list drop down box set up to reference data in a defined name list. I would like to be able to select multiple values from this list to appear in one cell (preferably separated by a comma). For example, the defined name list contains the following data:
Choice 1 Choice 2 Choice 3 Choice 4
I would like to be able to populate one cell with the following via the drop down list: Choice2, Choice 4
The file is attached here. I would like to be able to autopopulate cells based on a dropdown. The first tab has the final report and the other 2 tabs are the raw files.
I found many examples on this forum of how one can pull in data from closed workbooks, or copy it and have it stored in the active sheet. So far so good, but I need a solution which would do the opposite - I need the macro to take a range of data form the active sheet store it in a closed workbook and save any changes in the target workbook without opening it.
I have a dropdown list selection on the form for types of machines. The list of machines, their sizes and related noise level are in a chart on worksheet 2 and I'd like to automate the form so that when the machine is selected, the related noise level auto populates.
The dropdown box has been put in the form using the data validation function.
I have the catalog #s of some products in column A, and I have the brand in column B, Product name in Column C, and the model # in Column D. I want to create a formula that if I select the catalog # it should autopopulate the brand in column B, product name in column C and the model # in column D!!
And I have the brand/product & model # in a different sheet!!
For example, I have a master sheet that has a drop-down list of the months January and February, which have their own sheets. I am trying to populate the sales of the week 1, 2 ,3 ,4 in the master sheet based on the same data for the month chosen.
[URL]....When I select a name in column B, it populates column C's dropdown with that name's list of units. When I select a unity type in column C, I'd like it to automatically populate column E in the same row with the value associated with that unit. The values associated with a particular unit can be found to the right of the sheet. So if in row 2 I select Blake in column B, then Unit 5 in column C, I'd like column E to be populated with 14.
Edit: using Excel 2007.
I attached stripped down version of the sheet which is small enough to post. None of the things I removed should affect the topic at hand. The full sheet is available at rapidshare.
I have a problem whereby I have a list of data that has a date, a transaction and a balance. I want to be able to rearrange this data into multiple tables, one for each month.
The pictures below explain the situation better, on the left is the list of data I need to sort, and on the right is how I'd like the data displayed. So for the May columns I would like to display all transactions that happened in May and, depending on whether it is an income or an expense, the amount in the corresponding column.
i.e. so the finish result looks something like this:
I want to write a VBA code, so I can apply dates criterias to my pivot table. Say, I have 1-Dec-2007 in "C2" and 10-Dec-2007 in "C3". Now I want my pivot table to show me the dates between those two dates and the data that goes along with it. I have written this code, but it keep debugging:
Sub FilterDates()
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
Sheets("PnL").Select
Sheets("PnL").PivotTables("PivotTable3").PivotFields("Date") _ .PivotItems("01/01/1950").Visible = True 'to always have 1 populated
How to populate data in non-adjacent cells from information that is stored on another sheet. Sheet 1 is essentially setup to be visually pleasing to the user, but the data stored behind it is on another sheet stored in a more logical manner. I would like to auto-populate the nicely formatted sheet with information from sheet 2 when an item from a drop-down list is selected. I have found quite a few ways to do this using offset, etc. but in my case the values will be pulled into cells that are spread around the design sheet in no set order.
I'm trying to calculate a multi-variable equation based off of data in a table with different criteria. If you reference the attached spreadsheet I am trying to calculate cost based on weight and zone. For the data entered in cells B1 and B2 944.01 would be the cost. If you look at the table in G2:N3 you'll notice that the values in G2 and G3 are the weight limits G2 is from 0-4999 and G3 is 5000+, this should impact where the value in B1 falls. B2 should select from H1 to N1.
The below code is working for >200702 and removes all years/months prior to this entered value. Unfortunately the code does not work when a user enters <200706, instead the code goes through to the “NonValidCriteria” prompt.
Sub HideByCriteriaYYYYMM() 'Declare variables 'SEE: [url] 'SEE: [url] Dim pt As PivotTable, pi As PivotItem Dim lMonth As Long Dim strCri As String, strCri1 As String, strCri2 As String Dim bHide As Boolean Dim xlCalc As XlCalculation
I need to copy all the work sheets into one single work sheet (mastersheet). The source work sheets are having same column structure. The condition which i need to take care of is that after column 3 if at all there is any data till column 10 then in the destination mastersheet these should be copied in different rows with first two columns repeated. I need to do this using VBA macro.
Sheet1 *BCDEFG3QAUSERQAUSERQAQA4SRF RegistrationWorkflow-UserWorkflow-QAWorkflow-User FeedbackORMC 1ORMC 25CompletedCompletedCompletedCompletedCompletedPending Excel tables to the web >> Excel Jeanie HTML 4
I need to create a formula that would read from cell B5 to G5 and the first "Pending" it finds, it should populate the corresponding value from B3 to G3.
In this case, since from B5 to G5, the first "Pending" is in cell G5, the formula should return as "QA".
How to populate MTD data linked to the other spreadsheet file (monthly data) to the table on the left, depending on the month selected month from the dropdown list.

1)I need to create a formula to populate all stocks that satisfies the parameters that I will input in cell C3 to C12 in sheet 2 based on the data in sheet 1.
2)The stocks should then be populated in cell B15 downwards in sheet 2. If there are 20 stocks that satisfies the parameters in cell C3 to C12 in sheet 2, then all 20 stocks should be populated in cell B15 downwards in sheet 2.
3) The respective details of the stocks should also be populated in cell B15 to L15 for all stocks that satisfy the parameters entered in cell C3 to c12 in sheet 2.
I have a master list of people. (call it master) I have 1 other worksheet that should contain everyone aged 15 and up (call it must progress). One of the columns on the master show's their ages. I was hoping excel would automatically populate the sheet based on the age from the master list. So, for example. On the Master list, Joe Smith is 17. I would like Each cell in the Joe Smith Row to automatically copy itself to the must progress worksheet because his age is over 15. The formula would be based off the age on the master.
I have a set of data (assume 2 columns, one with a long name and the second with a time). The names contain variables that must be used as criteria (a single entry may contain "Blue" and "On"/"Off") and times vary, based on when the Name turns "On" or "Off" [in minutes: 25 (On), 47 (Off), 89 (On), 100 (Off) and 137 (On)]. I need to create another table that automatically inserts values for all times, to include the missing times (0 min thru 24 and 26 thru 46, etc.). EX: If the first entry is "Blue-On" at "25 minutes", the cells from 0 minutes to 24 minutes are each "0" and become a "1" at 25 minutes - the following cells are "1" until 47 minutes (where it is turned off). (1 and 0 represent "On" and "Off", respectively)
How can I created a formula to insert the correct numbers into the correct places? I'm willing to have multiple cells with formulas and simply hide the columns that are doing the calculations.
I have two worksheet. One worksheet is a form where in the Field Door No. should be a dropdown list. The list will be retrieve from worksheet Source. Now upon selecting a specific Door No. it should also autopopulate the respective Type, Brand, Serial No., and Type.
First thing i need to know is what should i do on Cell B1 worksheet Form for it to be a drop down list retrieving the Column A on worksheet Source.
Second, upon selecting for example ATC0009 on the drop-down, it should auto-populate like these
Door No. ATC0009 Type AT Crane Brand A Serial 43679 Type Crane
The # of days column will be a manual input. Then I have a larger table that will take those values and convert them to look like this: (Obviously the dollar values are pulled from somewhere else)
1 DTX $ 1,292.00
2 DTX $ 1,292.00
3 DTX $ 1,292.00
[code]....
I've been thinking of trying to use a macro but not sure that is the best way. Using a button or something doesn't seem very elegant either.
I am looking for a VBA that could populate from column (A2:A5) to cells (B2:F5) as in the attached spreadsheet, based on the frequency, in a five year time-frame.
