i am creaing a chart in excell but i have a problem. i would like to have a chart like this one http://shrani.si/?screenshotow31.jpg. but when i create my chart it looks like this http://shrani.si/?screenshotow2t.jpg. first chart is created with some macro so i dont know how is it working but i think the problem is in blank cells because if cell is blank the chart line will go to 0 but i dont whant that :s
View 2 RepliesI want to do almost exactly this, but when I assign null using "", and plot the result on a graph, the graph thinks that cell is populated with a 0. Let me try to be a bit clearer. I have a range of dates in Col A, and percentages in B and C, but my last 3 dates in Col A have empty cells in B. Cols B and C are separate series. The line graph is (correctly) plotting series C, and series B, whose line stops where there is no more data.
What I need to do now is replace those empty cells with a formula like the one above. Ie, IF(ISBLANK(x1),<null>, <formula>), but using IF(ISBLANK(x1),"", <formula>) doesn't make the line on my graph stop.
How can i exclude Blank or cells that have a 0 when plotting my graph? Right now everything is very small because i have about 50 cells, some with quantities and some with zero quantities.

I input data in the master and it filters through to the 20 subs and calculations are done. the problem is that on the master there are blank cells, that need to remain blank cells until i put the data in. This data is copied to the subsheets using a =sheet1a1 type of formula. what happens is when a blank cell is copied it appears in the new location as a 0. I need this to remain blank as the 0 causes calculations that I don't need and mess up a lot of the data I need. Is there a way that when it copies the new location remains blank until the data is inputed in the master sheet?

I have 3 different series: S, J, and D. Each series has a list of different dates, and I need to plot the results for each date, while comparing the 3 series. I have created 3 different charts to display the results for each series - list of dates. However, I'd really like to chart all 3 series on one chart, so that you can see how the 3 compare.
I believe my obstacle is that the list of dates are not consistent between the 3. I tried to get around this by creating one table with all the dates, and leaving blanks where necessary (on Sheet 2). However, this created a problem because the blanks showed on the charts as 0s.
I have the Lat and Long for each of several US cities. I want to use these to create a bubble chart that plots the cities and which I can place over a US map picture.
However, I have the problem that, because of the curvature of the earth, the city locations form the lat and longs are not tying with the map.
how to adjust the lat and longs so that they will correspond to the typical US map?
For example, the base lat and longs for Denver are 39.5742 and -104.8588. What formulas can I use to modify these to match the standard map projection?
Say I have a line graph pic in jpeg. Can I plot the critical points (by clicking) on the line graph plot, so as to be able to get the (x,y) data, and thus, have all the data points to be able to re-produce the charts in XLS?
Basically, in other words, I would like to reproduce the line graph in XLS.

I am trying to generate a column chart with a high-low range overlay so that it looks like error bars. I've precalculated all values but cannot figure out how to add the high-low range lines. The ranges are in the min and max columns.
I tried using custom error bars but it did not work.
In the attached document is a timeline made from a scatter chart. Error bars using custom values are used to show the length of each task, however I can't get the chart to include error bars for the last 2 data points (tasks).

I have a column of data that I want to display as a chart. However, there are some blank cells in the column. When I use a simple line chart, the chart drops the line all the way down to zero for the blank cells. If the blank cell is B4 in column B, is it possible to make excel ignore that cell and connect B3 and B5 with a straight line?

Is there a way to plot a function, for example y = a + x*b or y = e^x in a graph without it having x and y values in cells of the spreadsheet?
That is, in y = a + x*b, for example, what I'd like to do is have an input cell for a and b, but no cells that show a value of y for every corresponding value of x , and a graph on a chart showing what the function looks like. Thus, the graph would only rely on inputs of a and b and on nothing else. A program called MathCAD does this, but I'm not sure how to do this in excel.
I have data that has values showing 0 and I don't want them showing up on the chart. I have excel 2003 and 2007 that I need it to work for.

To achieve this I entered VBA code that appeared in the newsletter issue 3 after slightly modifying the code suiting to my need. But, while exeucting the code with all the parameters, xlCellTypeBlanks, xlCellTypeFormulas,xlErrors, the error as shown as a screen shot herein is populated. But, with the parameter,""xlCellTypeBlanks"" all the Blank Rows only got deleted and similarly only those rows containing Formulas are deleted, while the parameter is""xlCellTypeFormulas".
I want all the cells that contain xlFormulas, xlErrors and xlCellTypeBlanks as well be removed while executing the code given herein. But, if the range contains "xlFormulas" and "xlCell TypeBlanks", the rows containing blank cells are not removed and vice versa.

I have a worksheet with 300 rows and I have a separate worksheet that contains graphs based on the data in the 300 rows.
The data is continually updated but stays at 300 rows. I add a new row at 301 and then I delete row 1.
I set the graphs up with a Chart Data Range of =GData!$B$1:$AB$300
As I add and delete rows the Chart Data Range reduces so after adding and deleting 3 rows the Chart Data Range is now =GData!$B$1:$AB$297
How can I get the Chart Data Range to stay at =GData!$B$1:$AB$300?
