Address Formatting From Wordpad To Make Mailing List
Mar 11, 2013
I have a data set for over 9000 addresses and can't get it formatted the way I need to. Attached is a small version of the doc. I need colums with "Name, address, zip, state, etc." and need to get rid of any duplicate addresses. address mock1.xlsx.
The main issue i'm running into is some of the addresses are 3 rows, some are 4 or 5. If there is a way to group all the data automatically between the "----------------------" that seperate them I think the offset or concatenate tools might work?
This document was originally wordpad in this form and I don't neccesarily need all the data, mainly need to make a mailing list. address mock1.txt
I do not know what function will do what I need. I am compiling info from different sources to make a mailing list. Basically it boils down to the following. Sheet 1 has Names and Parcel Numbers, sheet 2 has Parcel Numbers and Addresses. I am trying to combine it in a way that I have names and addresses on the same sheet.
Whoever created my customer contacts Excel sheet prior to my arrival entered all of the contacts address information into one cell and in order for me to put this info into Access, I need them seperated. For example:
10000 X Street Louisville, KY 40291 is in cell E2
I would like it to read:
10000 X Street in cell E2 Louisville in cell F2 KY in cell G2 40291 in cell H2
They also did this with phone numbers (ie. desk# / cell# / fax#).
There are over 1000 contacts in this sheet, so it would take forever to split these apart row by row.
I'm trying to use Word mail merge with Excel to create mail labels and letters for each person on the list. For example,
Johnson, Michael 7391 Wilson Street Van Nuys, CA 91405
I want to create a mailing label for this person. If possible, I'd like to make the top line of the address "Dr. Michael Johnson," however the format that I'm copying from is last name, first name. And I also want to want to create a letter that starts with "Dear Dr. Last name," such as "Dear Dr. Johnson." This is the website that I want to copy the addresses from:
Doctors in Los Angeles, CA | Primary Care Physicians and Specialists
I have done my homework, but I don't know how to properly paste the addresses into Excel and then use Word to create the labels and letter. I have tried many ways, but I have been unsuccessful.
I need to create a mailing list for people located in a specific area from a master list.
The address data is not in great shape so I need to check address field 2 and address field 3 in the list to see if the suburb in the location tab appears in either of the two fields.
Desired result appears in column F of the List tab of the attached spreadsheet.
I am trying to find out how to quickly remove do not mail names from our mailing lists. We have several lists and our do not mail list is huge(280) so it's getting very time consuming to clean the lists. I'm assuming I can copy the do not mail list names to the current mailing list and then remove duplicates..but I want to remove both duplicates when i do that. My understanding of the remove duplicates feature and unique values is already a bit foggy.
I have an Excel 2003 list with four columns as shown below:
Zipcode CRRT Count Bundles
85710 C004 693 14
85710 C005 867 18
85710 C006 1021 21
I want to "expand" this list to use in a Mail Merge program to produce tags for our direct mailing. Each bundle contains 50 letters, so in the first line on the above spreadsheet, there will be 13 bundles of 50 and 1 of 43. Currently, I can cut and paste to create the following table, but there has to be an easier way...
Zipcode CRRT Count bcount Bundle ibundle
85710 C004 693 50 1 14
[Code] ........
So as I pull this into a mail merge I will get a tag that shows the zipcode, the crrt, the total pieces for that crrt, then number of the bundle for example " 1 of 14" and the quantity in that bundle, for example "50 of 693", then the next bundle tag will print, 3 to a page. I know that here has to be an easier way either in the mail merging process itself or with EXCEL? Am even open to build these with ACCESS to create the tags. The beginning database contains anywhere from 350 to 800 lines of original data, so as you can see the cut and paste is VERY time consuming.
Name , Address , Station, Work Phone, Home Phone Mobile number
How can I make an address book in Excel
Suppose in the AddressBook Sheet
in A1 if we write the letter A the names starting with A will be displayed in Cell A2 Downwards along with the retreived information abt that recoreds Similarly In G1 if we write B then the recored starting with letter B should be retreived from the sheet 1 containing raw data in cell G2 downwards and this goes on in column M1=C S= D and so on
I am hoping someone can help me out of a problem i have. I have some numerical data (temperature readings) that was recorded / stored to a wordpad file.
I have to do some analysis of the data, such as finding mean / maximum and temperature differentials, which i thought would be as easy as opeining up the wordpad file in excel, and then doing formulas (such as =D7-E7).
However, i cannot get any formulas to cork - they all arrive back with VALUE and although all the data is numbers to look at, it might be stored as a text format? (my laymen knowledge isn't that great!)
am i missing out any steps to be able to use the data i have in wordpad as numbers in excel so i can use formulas?
I would like to Use my Excel VBA program to do this:
User Selectable: Open a CSV file using wordpad.
Once the program is opened I would like to search each row in the document for a name (value of 5 as a unique identifier) if the name exists then I would like to delete the entire row.
After the whole document is done I would like to close it and save changes.
The reason that I cant do this using excel is because the file gets screwed up, whenever I try to do the above in excel, even when I save in csv format and everything. The file has to be procesed through a nother program once I delete the unvanted info that is very picky about commas and any alteration in excel results in the file being incorrectly used.
The only method that I found that works is when I MANUALY open the csv in wordpad delete the lines I dont want and then close and save changes. Using this method the other program acepts the chaged file without a problem.
I can write the code to use excel to do it and it seams preaty simple. If what I need requires too complex an answer then please dont worry as I probably wouldnt understand it anyway.
I have included the code that does what I want in excel but results in the csv file being unusable.
'Read in path from setup area on front sheet and open "Open" box DPath = Cells(2, "C").Value & Cells(2, "D").Value ChDrive (Cells(2, "C").Value) ChDir (DPath) strFile = Application. GetOpenFilename(" (*.csv), *.csv", 1, "Select your System CSV file in Price Folder (Double Click on it)") If strFile = False Then Goto 1001
I am working on an email marketing project and i have a small problem. I have two different email list. One (List A) is a large list of potential leads. The other (List B) is a list of leads we are not supposed to market to. I need to delete every lead on List A whose email address is also in List B, so that we do not send unwanted emails to our clients.
The best way i have to do this so far is to go through line by line, which is very impractical.
In case it matters here is out list format. Each list has 10,000 + leads. Each lead occupies a row. The row stretches across 13 columns and each column holds a different variable about the lead (names, state, email address).
I want to convert excel file having cheque no 11111 at A1 and amount 5000.00 at B1 in first line and in second line ch.no 231 and amount 155000.00. i want to convert this to word pad in the following shape
I know how I can protect worksheet or a group of cells, but I can not prevent any one to damage it by (open with) WORDPAD to clean or damage it then to cancel this protection!
I have my dummy data, and I have (what I think) is how I want the data to be shown. My friend uses Google Sheets, but I prefer Excel. I am trying to convert the code because I am a stickler for excel. Typically I can convert codes some easily, but this is way beyond me.
For Column A: I want to create a list on sheet 'Setup!' based on ids!D2:D="yes". If that list has duplicate entries, I would like only the first entry to show up, but for the next entries I would like the cell to be blank. (this is important for the next step) For Column C: I want to have the corresponding dates go with the name entry. For Column D: I want to have the notes go with the corresponding date entry. (I believe I can manipulate Column C's code to do Column D myself).
I am also going to upload a data sheet, and an expected results sheet.
i have many excel workbooks in a folder i want a macro that will get the names of all the files and make the file names so extracted as a hyperlink to open the files.
I am trying to create a fairly simple spreadsheet with about 8 columns and about 400 rows. One of the columns features a drop-down list with about 8 or 9 different options. Dependant on which option is selected, i would like the entire row to change colour with that option.
For example: FAILED - whole row changes red SUCCESSFUL - row has no fill Tested - row changes to orange
Basically I have a giant list (50,000+) of area codes (like 312, 216, 517, etc...) and I would like to make a new column right next to that, which takes those area codes and transcribes them into states so it would be (IL, OH, MI, etc...)
I have a table on the 2nd page of my excel workbook which has every single area code listed in column A, and in column B it has all the state symbols. I got it from here: .....
So the data I put in Is Cells A to D the reast are calculated for me. so for example E2 is looking down column D to see if the number matches the number in A2, If any of them do it will put the name in the corresponding cell in E2 (Or you ca use a different cell if you prefer) so in this case D3=A2 so B3 is the answer also in the cell next to it I need whatever number is the cell next to the answer so in this case C3
I have a list of 200,000 e-mail addresses in a excel document in column A. What i am trying todo is find all the duplicate e-mail addresses within the list that appears more than four times.
I have tried this forumla in colunm B so it lists how many times the record appears: =countif($A$2:$A$244270,A2) which works fine and then a number appears next to each record. Then i pressed the sort filter to arrange all the records in number order so all the 5's are at the top of the worksheet but that does'nt always list them in the correct number order.
Basically all i want todo is find all the records that appear in my list more than five times then make a list of just one of those 5 records so i can remove them from my e-mail system.
I got it from here: [url]
How would I go about making this new column on page 1 of my workbook which takes all the area codes I have and makes a brand new list of the states by looking up the area code/state table I have on page 2 of the workbook?
I have a list of names in column A, don't know how many different names but for sure some of them repeats in different cells of column A.
A1 = NAME_1 A2 = Alan A3 = Ben A4 = John A5 = Alan A6 = Kevin A7 = Mark A8 = Dominic A9 = John A10= Tom A11=Alan A12=Frank
How can I make aonther list in column B, which contains a list of name in column A without repeating. So that B1 = NAME_2, B2:B4 is exactly like A2:A4, then B5 = Kevin, B6 = Mark, B7 = Dominic, B8 = Tom, B9 = Frank.... and so on. Another question, which is very similar to the previous one. In the same column A, now I add an AutoFilter (Data > Filter > AutoFilter) in A1. A drop down arrow button will appear at the right side within A1. Click the down arrow and another box shows: Sort Ascending, Sort Descending, All, Top 10, Custom, Alan, Ben.... the rest of the data in Column A but each unique data will only shows once in that list. How can I copy the contents of that box?
I am using this peice of code from another post in order to fill a ListBox with Outlook addresses. It works fine, but the the list has thousands upon thousands of names and it takes forever to run. I thought I'd add code to only add specific entries based on what a user inputs to a TextBox, but it doesn't seem to speed-up the process. how I can get to the user-defined data more quickly?
Private Sub CommandButton2_Click() Dim olApp As Outlook.Application Dim olNamespace As Outlook.NameSpace Dim olItem As Outlook.AddressEntry Dim olAddressList As Outlook.AddressList Dim olAddressEntry As Outlook.AddressEntry
I look everywhere to find a formula for a conditional formatting to make dues dates.
I would like to know if it's possible to do conditional formatting to make due dates turn green and yellow 90 and 180 days before their dues dates? The reason I am asking this question, it's because the column that where dates are, they are coming from a VLOOKUP formula and it's coming from another workbook.
I need the conditional formatting to make all numbers that are zero clear (i.e. no fill).
I need it to make all negative numbers to be red, however it doesn't seem to recognize "-1" as a number, and ends up highlight everything red when I say "highlight values < -1 red".
