Adjust Userform Height Via SpinButton Linked To TextBox

Dec 30, 2009

I have a userform with a listbox set to a range of numbers from 1-10, I would like my userform to expand/collapse dependant on the number within the listbox. The problem I am having is the forms height does not adjust from using the toggle controls only when you select back into the listbox itself.

Private Sub ListBox1_Change()
If Me.ListBox1.Value = 1 Then
Me.Height = 180
End If
If Me.ListBox1.Value = 2 Then
Me.Height = 210
End If
If Me.ListBox1.Value = 3 Then
Me.Height = 240
End If
End Sub

I have tried using click/after change events however I get the same response. Am I missing something from my code or should I be using another control (SpinButton for instance).

Excel 2003 :: Cannot Adjust Row Height Beyond Certain Limit

I have an Excel 2003 spreadsheet. I cannot increase the row length beyond 548 pixels or 409.5. And similarly, there is one column that I cannot increase beyond 1788 pixels or 254.71 . Now, I can increase the size of rows via going to print preview and editing the margins, but it merely shrinks the size of the paper and I cannot re-expand it to fit.

How To Get Cells In A Column To Adjust Height Automatically / Text Wrap

Oct 28, 2011

Is there a way to get cells in a column to adjust their height automatically, or with a macro to account for text overflow/wrap?

For example, lets say a column is 200 px in width and it's height is enough to view a single line of text, and the column is set to wrap text. Now more text is entered into the cell and it needs to be re-sized to fit two lines of text.

Is there a way to create a macro button to have this done automatically?

SpinButton To Change Time After TextBox Entry?

Nov 3, 2013

Textbox and SpinButtons, there is code for changing the date in a textbox by using a spinbutton. I have tried to use some variation of that for the purpose of changing time but to no avail. What my intention is, is that if someone enters 12:00 into TextBox that SpinButton_Up or SpinButton_Down can change the time to 12:01... or 11:59... respectively, and so on.

Textbox/SpinButton - Time Greater Than 24hrs

Jun 2, 2006

I'm developing a local timesheet userform application and want to capture times which may be greater than 24hrs using a textbox/spinbutton pairing.

I've managed to pair up and work with times up to 24hrs but the output always resets after 23:55.

I've also tried formatting the output as "[h]:mm" but without success.

Private Sub sbDTime_SpinUp()

With ctrl2
If .Text = vbNullString Then
.Text = Format(TimeSerial(0, 5, 0), "hh:mm")
Else
.Text = Format(TimeValue(.Text) + 5, "hh:mm")
End If
End With
End Sub

Private Sub sbDTime_SpinDown()
With ctrl2
If .Text = vbNullString Then
.Text = Format(TimeSerial(0, 5, 0), "hh:mm")
Else
.Text = Format(TimeValue(.Text) + 5, "hh:mm")
End If
End With
End Sub

Spinbutton To Cyle Backwards/forwards On Multipage Userform?

Dec 8, 2008

I'm trying to create a userform to act as a walk-through for a process. I've settled on using a multipage to conserve the required screen real-estate, and break the process into natural 'stages'. I've happily got these stages fixed into the userform's pages, with a couple of command buttons running events OnClick - but cannot figure how to get the spinbutton to navigate between the pages.

Set Height & Width UserForm Controls

Jan 8, 2007

I'm using a UserForm.Label to display comments which are of variable length. At the bottom of the UserForm are two CommandButtons. I'd like the gap between the Label text and the CommandButtons to be small (and preferably constant); and the CommandButtons to be at the bottom of the UserForm. This means setting the CommandButton.Top and UserForm.Height as a function of the Label.Height. The crude way I have so far achieved is to use Len(Label.Caption) as the surrogate for Label.Height but it's not very satisfactory due to word-wrap and blank lines.

Dynamic Userforms :: Code That Changes The Height Of A Userform

I am looking for some code that dynamically (during processing) changes the height of a userform. What I am trying to do is this: I have ten worksheets but only five are being used. I am looking to have a userform with a checkbox for each of the active sheets labeled. I don't want to have to display a form that is basically ten checkboxes with five enabled and five disabled. I want to show only the five active sheets checkboxes with a userform only large enough for the five. If six are active then a userform displaying six checkboxes and a userform large enough for only the six to be displayed.

Userform & Controls Scroll Height Width

Jan 9, 2007

I have a userform which has vertical and horizontal scroll bars. I want to set the scroll bar width and height properties to the correct value, regardless of the size of monitor screen used to look at the user form. I'm thought of using the code below in the initiliaze event for the user form:

Me.ScrollHeight = Me.Height
Me.ScrollWidth = Me.Width

However, this does not seem to work. I've tried adding 250 (Me.Height + 250)to each measurement, which works, but gives the user with the larger screen a very big scroll area. I wondered if there was a formula based on the application height, that would allow the scroll height to be perfect for the user form regardless of screen size?

Rico.

PS. I also use the following code to set the user form height on initialize. I don't know if that effects anything.

Me.Height = Application.Height
Me.Width = Application.Width

Finding The Column With The MAX Height In Comparson Wth Othr Columns Of UNEVEN Height

Feb 24, 2009

Finding the Column with the MAX Height in comparison with other Columns of UNEVEN Height

I need two things :

1. I have several columns starting from Column B till Column F, each column having values starting from the third ROW.

Ex:-

Lets say Column B contains two values in B3 and B4, Col C three values in C3 C4 and C5, Col D four values D3,D4,D5 and D6, Col E two values in E3 and E4, Column F five values F3,F4,F5,F6 and F7.

So, the answer is F3:F7.

2.I am using 10^{4,3,2,1,0} in a particular portion of a formula, Now the number of elements in the array or in the Curly Braces depends on the number of Columns filled from Column B as explained in the Point 1.

Now, since I have five columns under consideration I have this order as mentioned here {4,3,2,1,0} , I would like to know whether I could make this dynamic, as in if there were only four columns then this would be {3,2,1,0} and if more this array could self-fill and expand..

If that's possible, then how do we use it in the formula, Is it by the virtue of the INDIRECT function?

Adding Text From One Userform Textbox To Another Textbox

Oct 12, 2011

Code:
Private Sub cmdSearchButton_Click()
Dim txtbox As String 'stores lookup value
Dim x As Variant 'value for wwid txt box
Dim ForeName As String
Dim SurName As String
Dim wwid As Variant
Dim iPosition As Integer

[Code] .......

Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add

Code:
frmAdd.txtForename.Text = "&ForeName &"
frmAdd.txtSurname.Text = "&SureName &"

It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..

eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.

What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.

Labels In Userform Linked To Cells With Dates In A Worksheet Won't Update Automatically

Jun 2, 2014

I'm working on a workbook to track staffing patterns. I have two userforms included in my workbook. The first userform (userForm2) initiates upon opening the workbook. It's intended to allow the user to enter a date range and an office location for the report. The second userform (userform1) initiates when a command button (Weekly Summary) is clicked. I've linked texts boxes in userForm2 to cells in a hidden worksheet; this is where I'm holding the dates and office location until userform1 is initiated. I also have labels in userform1 linked to the same cells in the hidden worksheet so that when userform1 is initiated the office and date range appear at the top of userform1.

Here's the problem, when I click command button "Weekly Summary" the office location shows up perfectly however, the labels I have linked to cells in the hidden worksheet that contain dates do not update (i.e. they show the dates that were previously in those specific cells. I have to close userform1 and re-open it to get the dates to update.

I need the user to be able to choose a date range and office location when they enter the workbook. Then, I need userform1 to show the date range and office location (without having to open it, close it and re-open it) that the user chose on opening the workbook.
