I have an Excel sheet that I use for production, in one of the cells i have put a formula that displays the date of manufacture if a length of a roll is entered greater than 0, if no roll length is entered then the formula displays FALSE, what I want it to do is display nothing or N/A if no roll length is entered.
This formula is in cells G18 to G27, the formula that i am using at the moment is: =IF(G18>0,(TODAY())) and so on down to cell G27, is this possible to do this?
I'm designing a sheet at work where an individuals performance is monitored then charted. However the supervisor has now decided that he wants to see their performance charted against that of their entire team.
Using Data Validation i have a drop down selecting the user. Then their performance stats are found from various sheets using INDEX and MATCH. I have also done this in another cell to locate their team number ie "Team 1" for example.
Can i use VBA or any other method to generate a chart for when the team is displayed to then generate the entire teams chart? The data to generate this graph is on its own sheet as a team overview?
When the whole row in excelsheet is full for particular date that means all the values of columns (Legal Charge,GA and DNM) have been entered for particular date then display an error message if the another user tries to enter the values for the same date .
It means the user can enter the values for same date only if values of Legal Charge,GA and DNM are empty, otherwise an error message should pop up.
I would appreciate it a lot if someone could explain to me how I hide the value in the cell which a result is stored in when one of the two cells in the calculation is empty.
For exaple: C1 should be blank if A1 or B1 is empty in this formula: =A1+B1
On the attached worksheet if the data in col F changes from FLT to AWF,col M will flag up "faw".I would like to leave a blank cell instead of false if the condition is not met. Col P is an example of the result im trying to achieve.
I've written a sumproduct formula, which does what I want it to do; but it returns a zero in false condition, instead of a blank. I've tried several things, but don't seem to be progressing very far. Here's the formula that I ended up with.
when I use the =sum command of a certain cell and that cell contains no data I am getting a $0.00. I understand why, but can I display just a blank cell if no data is found in the cell?
I am using this formula, but if the referenced cell is blank, it keeps putting a 0 in the cell. I want the cell to be blank if the referenced cell is blank.
I am using concatenate to create a list of bottles based on other data, so that each cell contains a different combination of bottles.
The problem is that the list appears but there is also FALSE for every bottle that doesn't relate to that cell.
Is there a way to create a formula such that nothing appears if it is not true? And is there a shorter way of writing what I am after, I can't quite finish the formula becaise it is so long.
but i need to somehow incorporate a formula that only shows this if a cell has a value present.
I know as an example its something like:
=IF(C2="","",C3)
but i dont know how that would go in my existing formula as i dont know how to stack IF statements?? (a very kind person on this forum did the original formula btw)
the cell that i need to have as the 'blank or not' is D4.
I've got a spreadsheet where i need the user not be able to save the workbook if there is a blank row in a range of task which run from A4-last cell with data entered.
I would like it to say that "the row will be deleted, please amend"
After the check has been completed or varified it saves
I have attached a spreadsheet that is causing me difficulty. I currently have a formula that is displaying in V3 the highest grade when it looks up the data in A3,H3 & O3. Then this is repeated for W3 when the data is looked up in B3, I3 & P3 etc etc... BUT
I need the formula to work if only block one is complete i.e. (1 Explore grade, 1 Plan Grade, 1 Make Grade etc).(please see the example to understand what is meant by a block)
The current formulae will only display a grade if all cells are complete i.e., A3,H3 & O3.
So I am looking for the formula to:
If A3 has a grade in it I wish V3 to display it because its the only grade. (even if H3 & O3 are blank)
As and when H3 has a grade filled in I want the formula to select the highest and display it in V3 (again even if O3 is blank)
As and when A3, H3 & O3 has a grade in it I wish the formula to lookup and display the highest in V3
Ans this repeated for all different areas, Explore, Plan, Make etc.
If i make the listfillrange of my combobox a named range, is there a setting in the combobox that allows it to ignore any blank cells in the named range.
Lets say my named range is cells A1:A5 but only A1 has a value, the rest are blank.
The combobox drop down menu will display the value of cell A1 and then 4 blank rows. Can i make the combobox igoner the blank rows and only display cells A1 in the drop down menu?
Been doing pretty good up till now but I can not figure out how to get a combo box in the first blank cell of column A. I am using the named range 'Units' and there are almost 900 of them so I need the combo box.
In range B4:M4 some cells contain values and some are blank. I am trying to write a formula that will omit the blank values and just give me the nonblank values. The code below returns the FIRST nonblank value, but I can't seem to figure out how to drag it across a row to get the others. I want to ensure that the numbers stay in the same order (so no largest/smallest formulas), but the blank cell values need to be removed.
This would then need to be repeated for (B5:M5, B6:M6, ETC).
i've attached a pivot table where some cells are empty (see GCP tab). i want the empty cells to appear empty, and not as they currently appear, with the word "blank" in parentheses. i am aware that if i enter 2 spaces in any cell and press return, all empty cells in that column will also appear empty. is there any other way to have empty cells in a pivot table appear empty?
The result is a variable/number (235), "d" or a blank cell ("").
This formula is in a column and works fine where there are numbers in corresponding cells. The problem arises with corresponding cells which appear blank (show no values) but contain references to other cells: they result in a "d" when nothing should be displayed.
So while a corresponding blank cell is correct if it shows no values, it gives me this problem - I don't want "d" or anything.
A - Date last checked B - Due Date C - Actual Date checked
Currently column B is formatted to Date and simply has =A+84 and will display a date 3 months in future. However if there is no date in column A, then column B displays a default 1900 date.. Is there a way of making this blank if there is no date in col A?
I have a range of cells with numeric values or blanks. I set up a Conditional Formatting rule with this range selected: New Rule > Format only cells that contain > Format only cells with: Blanks; then I set the formatting to a light green fill and on the Number tab > Category = Custom > Type: "blank"
The blank fields get the light green fill, but no text; that is, the value displayed is still blank.
I go back to edit the CF rule and change Blanks to No Blanks. The results are what I expect: the cells with numbers display the text blank and have a green fill; the blank cells have no fill (white).
This is my testing criteria. I eventually want the empty cells to display 0 (zero). I tried setting Custom > Type: 0 (the number placeholder zero) and Type: "0" (literally the number zero), and neither works.
I have tried this with Format only cells with Cell Value equal to [the address of a blank cell].
I tried to set the value as "" but kept getting =""""; and ="" became ="=""" ???
I have tried this with Use a Formula... using the len()=0, isblank(), and other approaches, all with the same results.
I also made sure the option [x] Show a zero in cells that have a zero value is checked.
With all approaches to identifying the blank cells, they ARE obviously being recognized as blank values: the fill color is being applied to the right cells; and when Not Blank is the criterion (or a negation of a formula), the blank ones are not formatted. But blank cells will not display the text as defined in the Custom Formatting.
And this isn't an issue of "If the cell displays 'blank' it's no longer blank, so the rule doesn't apply" - HERE'S WHY: I set up a second CF rule that sets the Font to red when the value is greater than zero and had this CF rule follow the CF rule for No Blanks (the test above that works). Cells with positive numbers displayed blank in red, cells with zeros or negative numbers displayed blank in black. This clarified that the actual value of the cell is being evaluated, not the displayed value after Custom formatting is applied.
I have an imported report in a spreadsheet. It imports to three columns. I need to check each row in column A for three seperate criteria and delete the rows I don't need. I need to delete blank rows and check next row for page header info. Delete these and next rows to next blank cell. Check next row for page header and not delete if not page header. Several rows down will be a cell with 23 blank spaces before the word Reg: and sometimes other words past this but always this first. This row is to be kept. I looked at the FAQ's example of Deleting but I don't think it will work. I also need to put a key word in column A at a point where I want to stop. This report is a couple thousand rows long so a VBA procedure would really save time. I have a procedure I use to check for two zero's in two cells that hide these rows but I couldn't modify it to work on this report.
How can I FILTER a range and display the unique items, one below the other, WITHOUT blank cells - with only a FORMULA. What I came up with is shown in the attached WB. I would like to present the countries like in C11:C15.
