Rotate Data Excluding Empty Cells Using Macro

Jan 16, 2012

First I will post the data:

Weekly Roster

PARTIATIS106SPICE107TAN108TORRES. Jr109VAN STEEN110ACCIARITO111112113114115116117118119120

In this data, as you can see there are a lot of cells/rows that are empty. I have a macro that will copy the cells F98:F120 to F99:F121 and then copy F121 to F98, and finally delete the value from F121. In this case, it will give me a blank cell at the top and the data hasn't rotated really. All the names will be in same position.

But I DON'T want that. I want the macro to look for the last cell/row with a valid value in it and rotate the cells so that I end up having ACCIARITO at the top and everybody else to move down one row.

Min Formula Excluding Any 0's Or Empty Cells

Mar 25, 2009

I have tried a number of different ones from my search of this forum but I'm getting an error. here is a sample of my spreadsheet.

I want it to give me the lowest number, I don't want it to look at the 0's or if the cell is blank.
Here is my formula and my error:

my error is #num!

I've also tried others including using the MIN function but either 0 is entered or the error above.

Function To Count Numbers Excluding Empty Cells

Is there a function that will count a column of numbers where that will eliminate counting empty cells based on a certain date that will also capture any numbers that is added after refreshing the table from Access? I have attached a spreadsheet for an example. I need to count on the number in column V that equals 13 for the date of 12/22/09.

Excel 2010 :: Formula To Determine If Duplicate Values Exist In Single Column (excluding Empty Cells)

Jun 29, 2012

1 workbook, 2 worksheets (or tabs). On tab 1, I want a formula/alert that tells the user if any duplicate values exist in Column A of tab 2

Tab 2, Column A, has Unique ID's (6 digit numeric values)

The user manually inputs the ID's on new rows in Column A

Row 1 is reserved and in use for something else
Row 2 is my header, so cell A2 says "ID"
Row 3-623 currently contain unique ID's

When the user inputs a new ID into cell A624, then they return to Tab 1, I want my formula/alert on Tab 1 to tell the user that they have duplicates in Column A of tab 2. I know the Conditional Formatting, but if the user copies in 100 new values, they won't necessarily see the highlighted cells. My tab 1 is my "checks and balances" and the last place the user is suppposed to look to ensure that they haven't created any duplicate ID's. If the user sees a warning message that says duplicates exist, then I'll tell them that they need to look at column A (for cells that have been conditionally highlighted).

One issue that I'm running into with the conditional highlighting is that I want cells A3:A1048576 to already have the conditional formatting - this way when the user inserts a value into Cell A624, then A625, etc they conditional formatting is already there. Right now with data in cells A3:A623, cells A624:A1048576 are all highlighted with the Red/Bold Red Font (which is okay I guess), but ideally it would be nice to not count 2+ empty cells as duplicates and I'll have to have my formula on Tab 1 not include the blank cells.

I DO NOT want to use the Remove Duplicates feature of Excel 2010. If I remove them I could be removing data in columns B, C, D, etc that belong to the Unique ID. I just need the user to be told in Tab 1 that they DO have duplicates and I'll train the user how to research this and fix it.

The reason I want to look for duplicates in the entire Column A is because the list of Unique ID's will grow over time.

I have to select and cut a column with on several lines empty cells. I use the following code

'Range("c2", Range("c2").End(xlDown)).Cut' but this code select only the data till the first empty cell.

How can I select the whole column till the last cell. The column B is filled with data on every row so I think that I have to use the offset code.

Excluding Hidden Cells In Your Data Range

Jan 28, 2007

I am applying the sum function to a range of cells in a column. I've Auto Filtered my sheet to only include the data I need. Unfortunately, the sum function is adding everything in that column, even data from the 'hidden' cells that I've filtered out. I need to know what condition or parameter to apply to the sum function (or any other function for that matter), that will only add the data shown on my screen. Not the data that is hidden.

Loop Macro To Check If Cells Not Empty

Jun 27, 2014

Column 'N' and 'O' will be used for inputting information and will never be hidden

Column 'E' through 'F' hold information, however the user will have hidden all but one of columns 'E' through 'F' before running macro

Once the user initiates the macro, the program will detect which column in 'E' through 'F' is not hidden

The macro will then start at row one of the unhidden column and loop down looking for the text 'Req' (not including ' )

If the loop finds 'Req' it will search in column 'N' of the same row for any data at all
If it finds data in column 'N' for that particular row, it will check column 'O' of that same row for any data at all
If it finds data in column 'O' also, then all 3 parameters have been met

The loop should continue checking for these 3 items through row 500

If the loop determines that for every 'Req' found in the unhidden row there is data in the corresponding column 'N' and 'O' a message will appear that says 'Checklist Complete"

Upon closing the message box, the file should save and then exit

If the loop determines that for every 'Req' found in the unhidden row, there is not always data present in column 'N' and 'O' the message box should appear and say 'Checklist Incomplete'

In the same message box, it should provide a list under 'Checklist Incomplete' that provides the text found in column 'D' for each row where it failed the test of having 'Req' in the unhidden row and data at all in column 'N' and 'O'

That last part will give the user a tool to see where they might have forgotton to enter data.

Macro To Clear Row Data Then Shift Remaining Data Up To Empty Rows?

Apr 15, 2014

I'd like to have a sheet with multiple columns of data (say A thru K for instance.). Id like to reserve column A for ONLY imputing an X. The rest of the columns b-K would have data in the cells. I'd like to have a macro that when it saw an X in column A, would copy all of the data in cells B-K in that row, paste it into the next empty row of a second sheet (for history tracking), then go back to the original sheet and continue looking for additional "X"'s and repeat. Once all of the X's were copied, it would "clear" (Not delete because some of the cells would have formulas in them that would need to remain for future use.) the cells based on the "X" then finally move all of the remaining data up to the empty rows to fill in the empty rows. This last piece would be more for esthetics to have a clean looking sheet.

Macro To Autofill A Number In Empty Cells In A Column

Jan 27, 2009

1. I need a macro to find a unique number, say a 10 digit number starting with 4100.. and move it 1 row down and 3 rows to the left. It needs to look only in one column (E) for this number. This row contains several unique numbers, variable number of blank cells between them, all having 10 digits and starting with 4100.. - So the macro needs to repeat this for every unique number.

2)Once it does this, I need it to autofill the unique number in all the cells in column A until the next unique number is reached.

Macro For Hiding Rows Containing Empty Cells Through Different Columns

Sep 4, 2013

I created a macro that analyzes some datasets and according to different parameters it puts an X at the side of every cell that goes out of parameters. These Xs are all in columns named the same way for it to be easier to find. What I want to do is to write some macro that will hide every row where the data did not go out of parameters to be able to easily see where it did. In the following example it would need to hide the second row since there are no Xs in that row. One of the problems I'm having is that the amount of columns and rows is variable.

Functional Upset
Functional Upset

[Code] .......

Below is the piece of code that I created to try to do this (G has the value for the amount of rows). I think it is working but it is either taking too long since it has to sometimes go through over 20k lines as much times as it needs to to cover all the rows that contain Xs or its getting stuck for some reason.

Worksheets(2).Range("I3:I" & G).EntireRow.Hidden = True
K = 0
Do Until Worksheets(2).Range("I1").Offset(0, K) = ""
If Worksheets(2).Range("I1").Offset(0, K) = "Functional Upset" Then

Copying Data To Next Empty Row In A Macro

Jan 27, 2010

I am trying to do is copy two ranges of data from one sheet and past the values to one other sheet. The trick is not having the data overwrite each time the macro is run (I need the data to be pasted to the next blank row). Also, as there are two ranges of data to be copied, I need to define which rows the paste is to start at e.g. copy data from sheet 1, Range("B8:M8") and paste to the next blank row on sheet 2 starting a cell "A3" AND copy data from sheet 1, Range("B9:M9") and paste to the next blank row on sheet 2 starting a cell "A20".

I've managed to get this far (see below) by pasting the data into two separate sheets but cannot work out how to modify the macro so the data can be pasted into a single sheet with conditions outlined above.

Sub Stats()

Application.ScreenUpdating = False

Dim NextRow As Range
Set NextRow = Sheets("Past Stats Mar to Aug 2010").Cells(Cells.Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0)
Sheets("Current Stats Mar 10 to Aug 10").Range("B8:M8").Copy
NextRow.PasteSpecial (xlValues)

Dim NextRow2 As Range
Set NextRow2 = Sheets("Past Stats Mar to Aug 2010").Cells(Cells.Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0)
Sheets("Current Stats Mar 10 to Aug 10").Range("B9:M9").Copy
NextRow2.PasteSpecial (xlValues)

Application.CutCopyMode = False
Application.ScreenUpdating = True

I'm also displaying it as minutes in a day so i added *24*60 to the end of the formula and formatted to Number/.00. I've entered the formula and it will calculate but when i enter FMC to the appropriate area the average wont change.

Moving Cells Data Down 1 Cell If That 1 Is Empty

Apr 29, 2014

I have a Rental Form that i'm working on, and to tidy things up when I print it out, I would like to move a cells data down 1 row if that cell is empty. Here's what I have:

cell b8 - First and Last Name
cell b9 - Address1
cell B10 - Address2
cell b11 - City, State, Zip
cell 12 - Phone #

Not too many people have an address2, so when that field is empty, I'd like to move Address1's data down to it's position (address2). If address2 has data in it, leave address1 where it is. Simple right? This moving would happen when the command button is hit and the form data goes to sheet 1 which works fine.

Entering Text Box Data Into Next Empty Cells

Mar 1, 2014

I am caught in an areas where I have learned how to find the next available empty row by going far down my worksheet, counting up until I reach a filled row and then offsetting that value by 1 as seen here below:

NextRow = Sheet1.Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Row

My difficulty lies in assigning the cells in this empty row the data a user can input in my text boxes; let's say there are 4 text boxes which need to be put into the following cells:

Text box 1 (Text value) needs to be assigned next empy cell in column: AText box 2 (Text value) needs to be assigned next empy cell in column: B (1 offset away from A)Text box 3 (Numeric value) needs to be assigned next empy cell in column: F (5 offsets away from A)Text box 4 (Numeric value) needs to be assigned next empy cell in column: H (7 offsets away from A).

How would I go about using my identified "NextRow" and then plug in these text box values into their appropriate cells down that row?

Find Small Amount Of Data Amongst Lot Of Empty Cells?

Jul 1, 2013

One of my datasheets by necessity ends up as about 25,000 rows long, but only about 40 of those rows have data in. The rest of the rows are empty.

If a row has data in, there will be data in every column on that row, for example if row 2 was not empty, there would be data in A, B, C . . . and all the way to the last column without missing cells along the row.

I need to copy those 40 rows without blank rows in between. At the moment, I have a macro that deletes blank rows, but it takes hours to run.

This is the code that's being used at the moment:

Sub DeleteBlankARows()
Dim r As Long

If Cells(r, 1) = "" Then Rows(r).Delete
