Summing In One Summary Tab Data From Multiple Tabs?
Jan 14, 2014
I have a summary tab in which I am trying to sum data based on specific variables from 30 other tabs in the worksheet
- In the summary tab, I have months (one year worth) over the top row and consultant names in the first column
- Each other tab represents a project
- I want for consultant 1 in summary tab, to have:
For january, the sum of dollars spent in january in each project (so across all tabs)
Same for february to december.
I have attached an exemple Note that the consultant names will always have the same syntax but will not necessarily be in the same cell in each tab.
I have multiple tabs with information in the same cells on each tab (each tab is a different product). Is there an easy way of pulling this information for each tab onto a summary page?
I'm trying to sum a criteria of all M's in one column that are x's in a different column, throughout multiple worksheets.
I'm able to get the summary number for 1 worksheet using the below formula (*W1 is the worksheet name); however, how do i encapsulate all the worksheets (lets say W1 through W10), please note that some of the worksheets have different ranges (meaning, not all are from Row 2 to 6)
I have multiple tabs and each tab has an invoice. In the summary tab, I want to grab certain cells ie. Invoice #, Number of items, and total invoice amount.
The tricky part is, although the format for each invoice is the same, the product list for some invoices may be longer in some invoices (which will affect the total amount - aka total amount may be in cell F40 instead of F10).
Since I get these invoices on a regular basis, I would really like to create a macro where it will just find the items I need and paste it in the summary. I have no problems making this file work if the items are all in the same cell and format for each tab.
I have 199 tabs in which i have, for example, sales data month by month. I want to consolidate into one tab the total sales per tab. I.e. so that i have a list of tabs 1 to 199 with the sales for the year for each tab. I don't want to sum the same cell across each tab.
Is there a way of doing this without having to do 'sum(tab1...)' for my tab 1 sales and then 'sum(tab2...)' for my tab 2 sales etc?
I am trying to review a cell range for a specific criteria, and then sum up another cell range if the criteria matches. Here are the formulas I have typed in - there are two columns I am trying to calculate using the same formula, they are next to each other:
=SUMIF('MASTER POINT SCHEDULE'!I2:I841,"0ACA101",'MASTER POINT SCHEDULE'!O2:O841)
=SUMIF('MASTER POINT SCHEDULE'!J2:J841,"0ACA101",'MASTER POINT SCHEDULE'!P2:P841)
I am trying to setup a file that has three tabs - LIST, COLOR AND PLANT.
I want to be able to select a color or colors (red, blue, yellow, green) and a plant or plants (tree, shrub, flower, grass) using radio buttons, maybe?
If i chose red and blue for a color and chose tree, shrub and grass for plants, i would like to populate the LIST tab with these items.
I'd also like to give an associated value to each color and plant. for example, for the colors, i could choose values between 1, 2 and 3. if i chose red 1, it would add "red 1" to the LIST. if i wanted to later change it to 3, i could do that on the COLOR tab and the LIST tab would update automatically.
I have a summary sheets for my report that my department no longer wants to use. Rather they want to have a longer, more detailed version of the same thing, but rather than 1 sheet summarizing it all, they want it 1 widget, 1 sheet.
How can I have my Checksheet tab (see upload), turned into multiple tabs. In the specific example I provided, there are 10 widgets, so therefore I created the result in 10 tabs.
How can I get a macro to turn Checksheet tab into the next 10 tabs (see excel upload)?
I have attached the excel sheet of how my summary sheet is, and how it's supposed to look like.
I have a summary page that includes the titles for each tab within the excel 2003 workbook. I want to use the names of the tabs in the summary page and create it into a formula to lookup fixed cells within the various tabs. Sorry for not uploading an excel doc but I was at work earlier and the thread did not load for some reason, so I am reposting it.
I am currently working through a macro and got stuck about halfway. I have a number of files in a folder on my drive that I am pulling the first tab from into a Master workbook, and then I want to have a summary tab for all of those tabs(they are all identical). Some of the cells will be text(say range A5:C105), some will be SUM(E6:G105) and some will be AVERAGE(D6:D104) formulas needed. These formulas will not change, but will need to pull the data from all tabs that are pulled into the file.
So far I have this code that pulls all of the first tabs together:
Code:
Sub Staff_Plan_Update() Dim wbDst As Workbook Dim wbSrc As Workbook Dim wsSrc As Worksheet Dim MyPath As String Dim strFilename As String
Call TimeStamp
[Code] ......
I was going to record a macro that creates a summary table every time, but not sure if it is easier to create a blank template for the summary tab that will update every time all of the tabs are pulled into this file. The problem I ran across with that is that I will be taking the SUM of all tabs, but the number of tabs/name of tabs will be different.
I track distribution using 1 workbook for each sales rep. Each workbook has a separate worksheet (scorecard) for each of their locations showing which of our products are used in that location, for various functions. Each of the locations has a segment (bar, nightclub, casual dining, etc.), and a class (AA, A, B, etc.). All of the scorecards are identical, and are in the same file folder on our shared drive.
Sample:
Location A Class:AA Segment: Sports Bar Rep: John Smith
Product: Product X Product Y Product Z Well: 1 0 0 Back Bar: 0 1 0 Cocktail Menu: 0 1 1
I was unable to find an HTML maker so this is not an actual sample but what I'm looking at. The above data indicates that for location A (Sports Bar, Class AA), Product X is used as the well, Product Y is on their back bar and their cocktail menu, and Product Z is not used at this location at all.
I need to set up an analytic workbook where I can sum data based on multiple and grouped criteria, and for multiple reps ie- display a scorecard that shows totals for nightclubs and sports bars, class AA, A, and B, for a particular rep; OR display a scorecard that shows totals for nightclubs, class A for a group of reps. Ideally I would like to do this using drop down menus that allow the user to select multiple criteria in each of the drop downs, having the data auto-populate based on those selections.
I have a macro that takes data in rows 1 through 500 from many tabs and collects them in the summary tab.
I would like to write a macro that only selects rows that have data in Column A. Therefore, reducing the number of rows copied from all tabs from 500 to only a few that contain data that I really need.
I have a worksheet that contains 26 tabs all of which have the same format but contain different data based on that pay period. i would like to create a summary tab which will allow me to enter the pay period at the top (1,2,3 ect) and have excel reference that tabs information into the summary. Is this possible?
I have several tabs, 100 or so, and would like to have cost per West, South region etc onto a summary sheet. The summary must separate these costs per individual company per tab/worksheet. I'm looking for a formula, a macro or both to execute this work for me. The tab list grows every time i.e. new ones are set up all the time so the formula has to take this into consideration.
I have 9 sheets of sales data, some with over 50,000 records. I need a way to present this information in another worksheet so I can bring up just the data based on individual brands. I understand a pivot table is needed however I cannot see how to gather data from multiple worksheets.
For example:
I need to look at all the different sales for Product A, which appears in multiple worksheets. Product A is broken down to store-level, with records for number of sales in each store, one record for units and one for value (for the same store and product). Is there a way I can get the data for all of Product A in one worksheet so I can then easily add the totals across all stores by both units and value?
E.g. Store 1 - Product A - 10 units Store 1 - Product A - £20 Store 2 - Product A - 7 units Store 2 - Product A - £14
I have a lot of paperwork that needs to be entered into Excel. When I finsih entering the data, there will be many workbooks containing many different worksheets. I know how to summarize each workbooks but is there a way I can add specific columns in each of those summary sheets into a new workbook? I guess the question is can I sum data from different workbooks into a new workbook?
I've a table and in the first column titled 'VALUES' (A1) I've entered values ranging from 1 to 100 (A2:A10). In the second column titled 'STATUS' (B1), 'closed' or 'NA' is entered (B2:B10). Now I need to find how many cells are there in the table with 'closed' status in the range 0-25, 26-50, 51-75 and 76-100.
VALUES STATUS 34 Closed 56 NA 44 Closed 98 Closed 18 NA 82 NA 23 Closed 40 NA 63 Closed 71 Closed
formula that will find "John Doe" through sheets 2-10 and check the Win column for a "w"..if a W exists, Sheet 1 will calculate numericaly how many times it shows progressively, but only for his name and not others.
Sheet 1 B7=John Doe C7 = total W's though sheets 1-10 for John Doe Sheet 1 B7 C7 John Doe total W's
[Code]...
This is a alteration to an existing question I asked 2 Days ago, I redesigned a new spread sheet to start over with a new approach to it.
I have circa 500 sheets (all with identical layout) in the same workbook. All the data is displayed in Columns "A" and "B". The entries in Column A are variable (5-6 digit numbers) B contains numbers between 1 and 200.
I would like to be able to add together the sum of the numbers in B against an entry in A- I have a list of all the entries in column A.
The data in column A is in ascending order but may not always be in the same cell reference.
Notice how there are a couple parts that occur in more than 1 sheet. Can a summary sheet combine all those parts into one master list and total the quantities for each part?
I have been trying multiple SUMIFS and SUMPRODUCT formulas to try and revamp my budget spreadsheet. My first criteria is the month being a certain number (contained in a column), if that condition is met it needs to look for the account number I am budgeting for (row heading) and if it matches both criteria I need it to sum the Column that has the row heading of the account number. I have succeeded in doing a SUMIFS and manually finding the column that has the heading of the account number I am looking for, but I would like this to be an automated process so I can copy the formula. Below is the data I'm using (a very, very small portion of it), and the results are how my budget sheet is going to look. These will be on separate tabs in the workbook.
EX: For July electric revenue (44211) I need my formula to: (if the Month column=7 & if the Account Code row heading=44211, sum the column that has the heading of 44211). So far I cannot get this to work.
I have created a template workbook for individuals who work on different sites. The spreadsheets used by each individual have the same headers. The sheets all sit in the same folder in dropbox.
I am wanting to produce a summary workbook within the dropbox folder that automatically populates when an individual updates their workbook.
I have attached mock example of the individuals worksheet for your information.
The questions that I have are as follows:
1. Is it better within an individuals workbook that they record their activity all on one sheet as opposed to having a spreadsheet per months activity? It seems tidier to have a sheet per month but does this make it more difficult to produce a summary workbook?
2. The individual is required to record a patients individual drugs on separate lines but they need to record a unique identifier, age, *** and month worked. Do they need to record all this for each line of drug or is there an easier way?
3. How should the summary sheet be produced - pivot table or sheet with formulas linked to the individuals workbooks?
I am attempting to write code for a macro that can cycle through about 30 excel workbooks and merge the data. getting the raw data on one sheet is not a problem, but I also need to sort similar data into corresponding columns while merging such that all data from the workbooks with a certain column heading will be in a single column with a single heading on the summary sheet. The problem is that the column headings on the source workbooks are not always standardized, i.e. "F high", "high F". Each sheet has several columns that look like the one below, with a header at the top and a series of numbers. (please ignore the dashes, I just used them to line up the columns in this post, in excel each value is in a different cell)
F Low---F High---V Low 721-----999---804 721-----999---0 721-----999---0 711-----720---786 711-----720---713
My vba skills are very basic, so I have been approaching this problem with a mountain of if..else and InStr commands, which doesn't seem like the best method and isn't working.
I've only recently ventured into the VBA scripting and am finding it quite exciting. After doing some trivial stuff, I'm trying to work with websites. Currently, I'm trying to pull data off of a website which poses a form which has to be filled first. I've been successful in filling the form and clicking submit, through the code, but the site opens the results in a separate tab in IE. I am unable to make it go to that tab and copy-paste data from there.
Secondly, instead of just blindly copy pasting, it would be better if the data is pasted in a more readable format (as on the website). The following code is plainly copying and pasting the data as-is and hence rendering it unreadable:
I have an excel spread sheet with about 300 tabs. each sheet has the same column fields..I need to pull certain column fields ( the same fields ) out of each tab and export them to another spread sheet.
I'm not very good with macros and I need to create a macro that copies data from one excel worksheet into multiple other worksheet tabs in the same workbook. I have 8 columns and thousands of rows of data. The spreadsheet is sorted by column E.
In column E, there are about 25 different values going down throughout the spreadsheet. I would like the data for each of these Column E categories to be copied over to a new tab in the spreadsheet with the tab name as the value in E. So in the end there would be the main tab, and then 25 new tabs with the filtered data. Does anyone already have a macro that will do this?
I have a spreadsheet with 12 tabs, 1 for each month in the year. On each tab I have employee names (column A), followed by the premium they pay for their health insurance (column B). I'm attemting to create a list of each employee and how much they paid for helath insurance over the year. Since employees come and leave thorughout the year, the lists aren't the same on each tab. However, I was able to create a master list of all possible employees and placed this list into a new tab.
I'm vaguely farmiliar with the SUMIF function and I believe that this would be the best approach, or some possibly sort of vlookup.
I've been asked to compile and sum weekly sales data. The problem is that the data was supplied in 52 separate tabs, for each week of the year (I don't know who on earth thought that would be the most appropriate way to send the data).
Is there any quick way to import all the data from each tab into one worksheet? The data is laid out the exact same way on each tab. All the row and column headings are the same, and in the same cells. Only the numbers are different (obviously).
