View 5 RepliesI have a list of 12.000 pictures which have to be "connected" with the article number (1000) & color (21). Here starts the problem... Each article usually has more than 2 colors, but is listed only once per row and the colors are stated in columns.
What I would need is a macro or function that would do from such structure:
art description color1 color2 color 3
1000 product A 21 22 23
1001 product B 19 23
this:
art. description picture
1000-21 product A, color 21 1000-21.jpg
1000-22 product A, color 21 1000-21.jpg
1000-23 product A, color 21 1000-21.jpg

1. check if the row in color columns is not null
2. if this is true, then I would like to copy the entire row & paste it below existing
3. then the "art." column would be changed (=A2&"-"&C2), so the article woul get suffix of the color (and column "picture" would be created, maybe something like =A2&".jpg")
4. if any other color column in the same row is greater than null, then proceed to next color & repeat steps 2. & 3., else go to next row
5. until all 5000 rows are converted in about 12.000 rows.

I have numbers in cells d1 to kq1 (1 to 300) d1=1, e1=2, f1=3 and so on
What I want to do is:
In D2 through to kq2 it puts the number in to the cell that correspnds to a multiple of the number in b2.
That would put 1000 in cells m2,w2,ag2,aq2, ba2 and so on
In D3 through to kg3 it it puts the number in to the cell that corresponds to a multiple of the number in b3
that would put 1580 in cells y3,au3,bq3,cm3,di3 and so on
I have cells of data with a long string of numbers such as: 20090507225836. Is there any easy way to convert them to date/time format, such as below? 5/7/2009 22:58:36

I am working with a formula that has multiple embedded IFs and therefore references the same cell multiple times. However I am also copying it between workbooks for different companies so some of the information changes which column it is in. For example, there is a formula in AA5 that has 3 references to R4 and 4 to R5 and I need all of the R4 references to be T4 and all of the R5 references to be T5.
I can't do a "find and replace" because the formula in Y5 still needs to reference R4 and R5.
I have been clicking on R4 and dragging it 3 times to T4 (and the same for R5 to T5). It just seems like there should be a way to move all of the R4 references at one time to T4.
I am trying to provide a tool for department leaders to monitor productivity for order processing in their departments. The variables I have are: Number of orders(variable), number of pickers (variable), start time(variable). Then, I know each order takes 1 picker 4 minutes to pick on average, and there are 45 minutes worth of breaks during the picking process. So after entering the variables I used =(((C3*4)/60)/D3) to come up with the time needed to process the orders. What I can't get to is how to add this number to the start time, factor in break minutes and get to the projected completion time. I have Excel 2003 at work. Clearly I need to take a class!

For example
Start time: 21:00
Finish time: 06:30
Hours worked: 9.50
Start time: 12:30
Finish time: 23:00
Hours worked: 10.50
I need a sum function in A1 of a "Total"-sheet that totals cell A1 in every sheet with a certain color on the tab. The number of sheets can vary from time to time.
Any idea about a dynamic sum function that will do this, in combination with VBA?
I have thousands of timestamps that have a start & end date and time in 2 separate columns. (one named start and one named end...)
I also have numerous set time periods that i'm interested in.. (about a dozen or so)
for example 01/01/2008 - 05/01/2008, 07:30:00 - 10:00:00
What i need is to be able to count the number of times the full time period i am interested (07:30:00 - 10:00:00) in falls in between the thousands of start and end timestamps i have. The time periods must also fall within the date range specifed.
So if my timestamps were
Start: 01/01/2008 06:30:00 & End: 02/01/2008 11:00:00, based on the set time period above, there would be a count of 2
and if my timestamps were
Start: 01/01/2008 07:05:00 & End: 02/01/2008 09:00:00 there would be a count of zero as there is not a full uninterupted timeperiod 07:00:00 - 10:00:00 between these timestamps.
and if my timestamps were:
Start 01/01/2007 07:00:00 & End 02/01/2007 10:00:00 the count would be zer as this is a year early!
In 1 cell i need a forumla to give me a starting number and take one away each time a code or codes are dislayed in a cell range. Something like this
A1 = 23 days or any number days i needed
Cell range B1:C52
every time a selected 1 or 2 letter code appears in the cell range i want A1 to subtract 1 day from the starting number, i would need it to subtract half a day if one code appears ie HD, the codes may be P, OT, HD
I have a userform that has a time field on it and then the userform displays the time as a number.

How do I separate them to a decimalized per min value.
I have a time column (A) that when looked in the cell only shows AM & PM times, but the cell itself (not showing) contains dates too, keeping me from be able to do a sheet wide sort of time or time frame occurrences.
Can I do some thing to sort these cells with their corresponding rows based on time only disregarding dates?
I am trying sort out all rows that in column (A) is time equal to or greater than 4:00 PM OR even maybe sort all rows that column (A) shows a time between 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM. The date in the cell is the problem, I think. Excel 2013
I have time start and time end and the difference between the two times. In a third column I have profit and want to calculate the profit per hour. When I divide the profit with the time spent I get a very very high number. If I for instance type in 1 hour of work and profit 100, then I get profit per hour 2400. (profit/hours spent)
On a side note I am trying to get the numbers as 24 hours and not use am or pm and in the spread sheet I get these numbers but in the box at the top where you see the formulas etc. it shows as am and pm. I have uploaded an example.

I need to put each step into it's own cell.
I've got an excel sheet that has a series of successive numbers down the side from 1-15 per sheet. I've done this by putting the cell formulas as previous row +1. (these are being used as unique reference numbers)
I want to be able to print this out multiple copies of this in one instance without having to manually adjust the first number multiple times then print the sheet. I also want it to be automatically saved as the most recent page printed, so that when it's printed the number continues on from the previously printed sheet.
I found a macro online which I have adjusted to increase a cell by 15 each time it is printed (to change the first number of the row). But I've realised that I'm printing the final page twice if I run the macro again. Is there any way to get round this? If I print 1 sheet there is also no adjustment in numbers.
I also haven't got onto the save part.

The cell has values that are formatted in multiple ways for example: PXX--XXP, --XO, OXX--.
I want the formula to return 4 if the cells has PXX--XXP or 3 if the cells has --OXX etc.
How can i format a column of cells so that if a number is less than 10 for eg that that particular cell is then multiplied by 1000.

Now, some vehicles share the same oil filter and I am trying to find a way to return the vehicle description when using the filter # as a value. In my example below, I am looking to fill the third column with the Vehicle that also shares the same oil filter number. i.e. in the Dodge row, toyota would appear in the third column and vice versa in the Toyota row.

I am not well versed in excel lingo which is probably why I have a hard time coming up with a method that works.
I have a protected worksheet. Users wish to be able to track changes in the input cells. The suggested approach for this is to temporarily disable sheet protection and allow them to change the font color, then protect afterwards. What I would like to do is:
i) check whether they are in an input cell
ii) if so, then prompt the user with the 'Font Color' dialog box
iii) apply the font color selected to the input cell
I'm struggling to find the dialog box I need. I can launch the one to change the interior color, no problem (Application.Dialogs(xlDialogPatterns).Show). But that's no use to me, I just want a color palette that specifically relates to the Font Color
I have one column with as many as 50,000 or more rows. The data format for each row/ cell is unique as shown below ( date and time). I wanted to split the data as shown in "Formatted Data" below. Have Tried Text To Column formatting but didn't work right.

I have a cell that has a formula in it (F11) the formula produces a number with no decimal places and that number represents a time in minutes. I have another field (K11) which has a time in it. In another field I want to add the minutes of cell F11 to the time in K11.
F11 = 29
K11 = 7:00 AM
When I just add the two cells : =J12+F11 the returned result is 8:42 PM.
Why do I get 8:42 PM?
I need the answer to be 7:29 AM. How do I get that?

=((I12/100)*25)/D12
After 1pm I would like the formula to be
=((I12/100)*25)/B12
I tried various ways with "=if(now()> ..." formulas to no avail because of the way Excel handles Now().
I have a Excel Dates & Times column where the time is not always used. In these cases the time is 12:00AM. Is there a way to Custom Formats the cell so that the time is only visible if it is not 12:00AM?
