The following times I have in two cells next to each other. 16:55:0917:23:00. I'm trying to calculate the difference between the two times but the problem is the paste special values, values are way different and this is causing the calculations to be off.
View 3 RepliesIn my workbook I have about 20 sheets (less in the attached sample), and on most sheets I’d like to query data for each day and find an average value based on the time and then copy that result into another sheet. I’m not sure if I’ll need 2 macro’s for this or if one can be used.
Here’s a quick description:
Assuming that I am currently in the sheet I want to run the macro, then I will either input “1:45” or “0:45” into a popup box, or I could always simply input the 1:45 or 0:45 in the code itself. I’m flexible
1:45:
If I input 1:45, then I’d like the macro to find the first 1:45 in Column B and the value in the same row in Column F will be used in the calculation. Once 1:45 is located, then the macro moves up to find 22:45 in Column B and the value in the same row in Column F will be used in the calculation.....

I have two columns of data, ITEM#, and LINE#, where ITEM# repeats multiple times in the report, and LINE# shows individually each line where the ITEM# appears in the source:

I have a excel sheet with several columns and 2700 numbers in each column. In the first column there is standing from witch quarter to witch quarter of the day the values are (and this for several days in one sheet). I want to take the average of all the first quarters of the day, the average of all the second quarters of a day,.... But if I would do that by just sorting my table on the quarters and than manually make the formullas I would need to give in 800 formules. (way to much)
So I would like to find an easier way to take the average of column B for the valeus were A is "00:00 -> 00:15" (this are avery time 28 numbers in the month february)
In attachement you can find an example of my problem, although it isn't with real values.

I'm looking to tweak this formula to count the number of unique values that occur at least 3 times.
So, imagine that A1:A50 contain 50 last names from the phone book, 27 of which are unique according to the formula above.
Now, further imagine that only 5 of these unique 27 last names appear at least 3 times.
I'm looking for the formula that returns 5.
And (like always), for simplicity and sharing reasons, I'm hoping to find a single formula that occupies a single cell, and does not rely on additional columns of intermediate information.
I've searched and found almost what i'm after but not quite i have a list of times in word in a column they are in the following textformat 12 23 00 23 14 34
i can paste them into excel but cant work out how to change them to excel time eg 12:23 00:23 14:34
I have a few spreadsheets with a few land transactions. I want to see if the parties involved are male or female, or both (in case of joint titles). And how many. I've tried to use ISNUMBER formulas and COUNTIF formulas but I can't seem to make them work. I've attached an example of what I need to do, the original has many more column with more info, and the names are in a different language which makes it easier to identify as female or not (like 'phany' in english female names etc).

I currently have a large amount of data extracted from a performance tracking system. The columns I am concerned with are Page Title and Time (the time it takes the system to navigate to the this page).
I am trying to create a dashboard to show:
Webpage Title (each unique instance of the webpage)Aggregate Time (total time it takes for all instances)# of Hits (Each time the value appears in the data)Average Time (this formula I can handle; Aggregate Time/# of Hits)
The major issue is that the webpage is extracted as XYZ001 -- PAGE1, XYZ439 -- PAGE2, XYZ854 -- PAGE1, etc. Basically, I am only concerned with what comes after the --.

Basically, I am looking for a formula that says,
For any instance in the Page Title column that contains PAGE3, add the amount in the Time column (i.e., 1.2 +.5).
I want to count how many times a particular text appears in Column A depending on the number times another text appears in Column B.
Say for example if I have in Column A {A, B, C, D}nd column B I have {AA,BB,CC) and if I want to check how many times column A has "A" value when the column B has "CC" value, then how should I proceed with this ?

I would need a formula where I can indicate the letter I want and the range of cells where to look at, and having as result how many occurances there are...
If you are very good instead of a single letter, maybe a sequence of letters... but this is an extra!
I have number of items and many items appear more than once. I need a formula so that counts the number of item appearing maximum number of times and it displays the name of the text written NOT the number of times it is written. It should also calculate number of times it appears in a particular month.

I want to isolate text on either side of dashes ( " - " ) that occur either 2 or 3 times in a single cell.
Example:
Apples - Pears - 99 - 100+ years
Bananas - 56 - 57+ years
In particular, I would like to capture the "99 - 100+ years" and "56 - 57+ years" text on its own.
I tried this " =SUBSTITUTE(A1, "*- ", "", 1) but it doesn't work
I am trying to use find and replace but the text that i'm searching for appears three times in the cell. I only need to replace the first occurrence in the cell. Alternatively, if there is a way to do this, can the second and third occurrence be changed?
Example:
Cheryl called Louie to advise she would be late for the meeting. Louie responded that he would meet Cheryl at her office. Cheryl confirmed.
I need to change the first 'Cheryl' to a job title and the second and third Cheryl to her initials (CL) so would read:

I am trying to split names across columns. The problem is that some names
spilt into 3 columns (first, middle, last), and others split across 5 or 6
(extra names, etc.)
Is there a way to specify split, using SPACE as a delimiter, but only split
on the first TWO spaces, then leave the rest alone?
i have a spreadsheet where I need to count up how many times a particular phrase within a text string appears. The text string will be duplicated many times throughout the spreadsheet.
For example :
Miss X was at work on Saturday
Mr XX was at work on Saturday but not Tuesday
Miss Y was at work on Tuesday
So I would like to count up how many times "work on Saturday" appears in my spreadsheet, and then as a seperate query, how many times "work on Tuesday" appears.
A1:A10 contains text (say colors) and B1:B10 also text (say vegetables). I need a formula to count the number of times a certain combination of numbers and vegetables appear in the same column, so if "red" and "carrot" appeared in A4 and B4 and also in A6 and B6, the result would be 2.

As these probabilities are dependant only on values from Column C, I'd like to list all the values from that column into another fragment of the sheet, say F6 and below, but each value should appear there only once, no matter how often it occurs in its original Column C (I listed them manually in Column F in the enclosed example). Moreover, if a new value appears in Column C, it should be also included in the new place and sorted in increasing order.

I want to keep statistics of roulette.
More specifically, i want to count how many times a dozen lates to come.
The range from 1-12 is 1st dozen, from 13-24 is the 2nd and 25-36 is the 3rd.
I want to count among these numbers, how many times one of three dozens appear every 1 time, how many times appears every 2 times, .... until 20 times.
For example: I have put in a column 500 numbers from 0 to 36.
The output must be like this:
1st Dozen: Every 1 time: x
Every 2 times: n
Every 20 times: m
The same for 2nd and 3rd dozen.

How would I go about counting the number of times TA shows within strings of text in a range within a sheet. Example: TA,MH in cell A2, CB,TA in cell C40, ES,TA in cell Q19. Result would be 3. Ideally, I'd like the formula to reference a cell that has TA as the look up data such as in A1 I'd have TA.

E3 provides the start time of 4:00
H3 provides an end time of 15:30
If an employee works betwen the hours of 0:00 (midnight) to 5:59, this is considered DIFF hours and is therefore the number I am seaking. So for the data noted above, the total DIFF hours worked is 2 hours.
I need a formula in excel to convert start times and end times and minus out lunch time taken and then give total hours worked. For instance,

I'm trying to compare values in 2 separate columns to see how many times the same value appears in both columns. Ideally I would be able to insert a range function to compare the values in the column "ID 1" against the values in column "ID 2" and return the count of times that a value appears in both columns. In my actual project I'm comparing 2 columns in the same worksheet. The column are column B with data in cells B2:B10266 against column C with data in cells C2:C18560.
I have a large amount of data and I'm trying to count how many unique values I have in one column. I also want to know how many times each duplicate appears. I tried using a pivot table but it's not working for me.
I also tried the following formula: =SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(H:H,H:H)>0,1)) but it's not quite working.
I am trying to come up with a macro that selects values from one sheet and inserts them into another sheet. The number of values will change each time based on the user's entry, as well as the number of times that each entry should be pasted.
For example:

Number of Times to be Inserted to New Sheet 3 | 2 | 1
Result:

I have spent a while trying to figure it out, however the best I can come up with is using an array, but I can only get one value from the array to paste multiple times:

I need a formula that will show the total number of times "text" is entered into a column and when sorted by year that would only show the total for that year. The COUNTIF formula i'm using only works for the total, not when sorted by year.
