Excel 2010 :: Macro To Filter Column Based On Active Cell Value?
Feb 25, 2014I work on an excel spreadsheet all day and I'm constantly cuting and pasting a value to filter another column. I would love to have a macro button that would automatically do this.
The job card sheets are labled 'Page 1' through to 'Page 175'. As I am working on each job card sheet I need to filter column on another sheet within the same workbook. This is indicated on the attached picture.
So in a perfect world as I would enter in the PLANT ID number on to any job card, then hit a macro button on the toolbar and the Pole No column would then be filtered by the value in the PLANT ID cell.
As there are multiple job cards the macro would probably need to use the 'active cell' value to filter by. But as you can probably tell I'm no expert so you judge the best way to do it.

Jun 7, 2013I need the macro to filter a table using the name of active worksheet as criteria. The code that I am writing is as below, but it doesn't seem work:

If I hard quote the name of the sheet then, the macro, unchecks all the criteria in the filter and does not show and row in the table.

I have 2 different datasets in the same sheet, they have the same headers (but named differently, myhead and myhead1) and the same adv filter criteria range (named as "dcrit") is applicable to both datasets. So, if an item is selected from the combo-box, both the datasets should get filtered according to same criteria. how i can combine the 2 IF LOOPS mentioned in the code?

Basis On 1st Column Automatically Select Input For 2nd Column From Another Worksheet

01 = source file
02 = data list
The workbook "source file" contains all the data
The workbook "data list" contains data for work with Drop-down list. And i can easily select my required description by just dropping down the list.
In case, i have new description i add it in the source file and it is updated in the working "data list" sheet.
This applies to Field device column also. But i want to improve the selection criteria by creating such script or formula which could check the input of the description and automatically selects the field device and its relevant signal (output type).

Because of the file size I have pasted a small section of Sheet2 in the hopes you can see what I am doing. As can be seen my code is not going to work with Offset as soon as the Data fills further down the sheet(every 2 weeks). I need a way to reference the active cells column name (it is a named range) or header name. Both are the same. That is the header name is the same as the name of the range. there is a way to perhaps find the first cell of the column,which I guess would work,but have reached a stale mate with what I've tried so far.

When I copy the tab and change some of the data within the cells, I want the macro refer to the chart on the current tab and the values in the current tab - as currently it refers to only "Chart 2" and the values in the tab 'Figure 2 - WE OPH'.
I've tried changing the sheet name to ActiveSheet.name but that doesn't seem to work.

That active cell's row is hightlighted.
Any cell in that column that has the same value as active cell is also highlighted.
Plus, any cell in another sheet that has that value it's row is highlighted too.
Example:
I click on C5 in Sheet 2 its value is 45000789 it row is highlighted, this value also appears in C3 in the same sheet, so it's row is highlighted as well. Plus, in sheet 1 in C10 this value appears and it's row is highlighted as well. When any of the values are clicked again the highlight is removed from all parties.

Dec 1, 2009I have a range of unlocked cells (B5:S10) that users enter data in. This sum of this data is then charted. The formula (sum) in a cell equals zero even when there is no data entered by the user. This zero is then charted.
I need to be able to plot the zeros if the user enters zeros but not plot the zero if the cells are blank.
What I was attempting to do is to use the worksheet change event to add the formulas to a cell so that the chart does not plot the value until something was added.
In my change event I need to know that a cell in the range (B5:S10) was changed and that if it was D7 (for example) that I need a formula enterd in D11 [=SUM(D5:D10)]. If it was I5 then the formula would have to go in I11 [=SUM(I5:I10)].

There 2 workbooks attached with this post. The workbook named "Data" contains the data and the workbook named "Emails" contains the Dealer Names (in Column A), the Email ids of the contact person (Column B, C and D), the subject (in Column E) and mail content (in Column F).
I need a Macro which first split the data basis of "Dealer Name" Column F into multiple sheets from "Data" sheet. Now, each sheet will contain only the Individual dealer's data. The data whose ageing is 2 or more than 2 days (in Column H) is highlighted in yellow.
Now, I need to send a separate email to dealers with their data details from range A to F (including headers) as an embedded text with subject and mail content which is present in "Emails" workbook.
Now the twist is, if any dealer having the Aging value in Column H is 2 or more than 2 days (highlighted in yellow color) than the email should be sent in CC to Column D email ids but if there is no Aging more than 2 days than the email should be sent in CC to Column C email ids.
"To" email ids (in Column B), subject (in Column E) and mail body (in Column F) will remain same in both conditions. Column A is containing the Dealer Names through which macro will identify the email ids.
