I am looking for a formula that will allow me to marry up the data sets by unique ID. I want to take the single lines from worksheet 2, and pull them over to sheet 1 and replicate where the identifier matches. So, Worksheet 1, would end up w/ columns E F G H, and additional data for each individual.
Unique ID, Name, Start Date, Salary, Unique ID, Date of Birth, Benefit Plan, Termination Date.

I am trying to filter the data in my fortnightly timesheets based on each job code (of which there are multiple)to a new sheet. I have found code on the net which should be doing this but it keeps falling over on the following line:
rng.autofilter field:=fieldnum, criteriea1:="=" & cell.value
The error i am getting is: "Run-time error 1004:". Autofilter method of range class failed. The code has already taken out the unique values from my master sheet and copied the list to a new worksheet. It should then use this list as the criteria to filter the master sheet. I have spent hours looking at other web pages for an answer to this particular error but none are using a variable criteria like i am.

I have list of unique numbers on Column A and names on Column B. I have another set of unique numbers on Column C and counters on Column D. I have 100 numbers on Column A and I have 10 numbers on Column C. Every numbers on Column C exists on Column A. How do I match and align the unique numbers and have Column B and D in same row? (E.g. 100000 Jones 30). This question is very similar to the one discussed at Aligning Columns With Same Data?

I'm trying to search & match data from two different spreadsheets. I will attach my workbook for reference.
The first worksheet is a list of all of my clients I have previously worked with and the second worksheet is a list using a set criteria. The criteria I am using is the UK postal code "AL10".
The clients address (Column B) will be used as a reference to match the address which is located on the AL10 worksheet which is also column B. If there is a direct match then a VLookup function will be performed to display something that can be easily referenced.
The problem I am having is that the address format is different on the clients worksheet then what it is on the AL10 worksheet. I have the feeling I will need to create a search function with multiple arrays but I have limited knowledge of how to do that.
There are some additional notes located in my workbook.
I know that two of the client addresses should match data located on the on AL10 worksheet and the other two shouldn't give a match at all as they don't exist. These are highlighted in yellow.
I have used the Find and replace function to do this but this is rather manual and slow and I would like the search feature to automate this process.

I have two sheets of same names with different data in each sheet. I need to refer the name in the first sheet and match the same name in the second sheet and retrieve the start date. I have attached the work sheet sample for better understanding. I know I can use vlookup. But am not getting the results I need.

Column A - ShopperID
Same data is in both worksheets, column named the same in both worksheets
Raw Data worksheet contains email addresses in Column J that i want to extract and copy to column I in Data worksheet if there is a match on Column A.

- I copy some records from a Database into an Excel sheet in workbook (say W1) in the Worksheet WS1.
- The i look up for values in a column (say column B) of W1 in another worksheet in another workbook(say W2) .
- If i find a match in Workbook 2(W2) ,Worksheet 1 , Row 2, Column A ; i look at the values in the Column B, F,G on the Row 2 itself.
- Each of these values can be found in the corresponding Worksheets 2;3;4 in the Workbook2(W2) .
- Then i need to pick up all these values from worksheet 1;2;3;4 in W2 and contatenate them and put them in the Workbook W1 against the Row .
- Similarly i process all the non zero rows in the workbook W1.

Been a while since I've worked with macros within excel and I can't seem to get what I remember being a basic macro to work whatsoever. I have 2 worksheets containing a massive amount of data and need to pull some cells from one into the other when values in 2 columns match.
To better explain, sheet1 has ID numbers in column G spanning for roughly 1700 rows. Sheet 2 has corresponding ID numbers in column EO. The data I need to copy over is in columns EP and EQ on sheet 2.
So I'm trying to build a macro to compare the values in Sheet1_Column_G to those on Sheet2_Column_EO and when a match is found, copy the value in EO and the adjacent entries in columns EP & EQ over into columns X, Y, and Z on sheet 1.
Couldn't get a VB function together to save my life so I tried working with MATCH & INDEX and didn't get very far either. I've included my current function below.

How can i make it like using any tools (I presume vlookup can do the trick) as i have thousands of rows to match. Cant do it manually.

I am "designing" a time- tracking database. The way it works is that each user (there are multiple users) creates a new day, which is mirrored in the sheet name (i.e. if today is 06/09/07 and my name is Newuser, the sheet name is "NewusER 060907"). Each sheet is filled in, calculated based on in-sheet formulas, etc. At the end of said day, the user can " upload" the daily data from multiple days worth of data into another sheet, that the graphing macro draws from.
The one serious problem I'm having is that users can upload the daily time data for the same day multiple times, to no end. I would like to do one of two things. Either:
a. make it such that once data is uploaded it cannot be uploaded again (probably more difficult), or
b. write a loop to pull out the highest data point up the sheet and delete all other rows for that one specific day's . (probably easier)
example:
Data loaded into the sheet before the macro runs:

Because of the constant changing nature of the information within, I would like to to make this dynamic range selection, I would prefer to avoid using Advanced Filters, if possible.

I am attemping to transpose a column of data into a single cell. I have a list of contact information, and one of the columns is for e-mail addresses. There are filters to the right of the data with different categories so the contact information can be filtered according to the different criteria. Ultimately, the people using the spreadsheet want to use those filters to create a list of e-mail addresses to send their distributions to.
The people who are using this don't have Outlook so we can't use an output to add them to the Outlook address book. We would like to make one cell at the bottom of all the data which would include all the e-mail addresses from that column seperated with a semi colon so they can just copy the contents of that cell and paste that into the To: field on their e-mail program. I've tried several different things but I've not been able to find a solution.

Is there a formula I can use that would sort information from a master
sheet into up to 4 different worksheets in the same workbook? Right
now I'm engineering IF statements, but I've come across the problem of
blank rows. To get rid of this, I fixed the false value as "zzzz" and
then sorted (because when sorting with " " as the false value, the
values end up on the bottom of the worksheet) but when using the Find
and Replace option, it replaced the zzzz values in the formulas, which
defeats the purpose.

this counts the number of entries on sheet Apr08WFA when value in range F1 to F4000 is either apr2008 (cellB6) or mar2008 (cellB7).
this works in principle but does not catch all.
I want to amend the formula to catch new entries appearing on a sheet called May08WFA that were not on Apr08WFA but with the same condition of "zz".
So data on May08WFA will be compared against Apr08WFA and new entries counted.

I have 2 sheets in a workbook. Column A on sheet 1 has numbers such as 123456, 123457, 123458 ect ect. Column A on sheet 2 has same amount of numbers but mostly different. However there are a few duplicates. QUESTION: How can i write a code that will fit in a new sheet lets say sheet 3 that will pull out only the list of numbers from sheet 1 and sheet 2 that are NOT duplicates?

I am looking for a formula that matches two unique numbers in a table based on two numbers that are entered in two other cells. This will be clearer by looking at the example below and the attached.
The goal is to find the number entered for the home field (cell c2) in the "home" row (B5:K5) with the number entered for the away field (cell c3) in the "away" column (A6:A15) and result in the data element where the row and columns come together. The expected result for this example in the attached would be "JPD".
Another example would be if a 6 was in cell c2 and an 8 was in c3, the expected result would be "RBK". I think this can be done by indexing and matching but my memory has gone blank with how this works.

but that is looking up only the first value

I can extract unique values from the list but thing is I need extracts only those values which match partially below is scenario

Column B has Countries..
so I need extract only those values which eg : Contry is "*Ind*"

In one sheet I'd like the user to select from 3 dropdown lists certain predefined values.
On the second sheet there is a long list of unique cells (one column, that can't be split into usefull columns with text to columns or something). I want to find the cell that holds the three text choices. These can be in different order to make things more complex. How do I create a search that finds that one match.
Example
The user selects "AAA" and "DDD" and "FFF" from the dropdown lists
The formula should find that one cell that holds this value: "FFF JJJ GGG DDD CCC AAA". This is the only cell that holds all three chosen values in one text. In the end I would need to have the row number of that cell,

I'm working on budgets (salaries). I have one main spreadsheet with all employee names listed - other spreadsheets are for each department. I need to bring the total salary from the department spreadsheets and would like to do this by looking up (or matching?) the names in the column from the main sheet to the department sheets and then putting the salary from the department spreadsheet to the main spreadsheet. In addition, I have several that have their salary split between two or more departments. On my department spreadsheet I have a column labeled % of salary for this department. On the main spreadsheet, I want to figure out a formula that will sum the percentages for a certain person (so I make sure I don't go over 100%).
For example - Joe Smith's name is on the main employee spreadsheet. He is also listed on 3 other department spreadsheets, with % of salary listed as 30% for department 1, 30% for department 2, and 40% for department 3. On the main spreadsheet I need to add up Joe's percentages from the department spreadsheets.

I have different worksheets to contains information from different years. To make it comphrensve, I have created a mastersheet which contains all the info across the worksheets. And once I make an entry in the worksheet, I hope the mastersheet can be updated automatically. the function I set is
INDEX('2011-12'!K$4:K$7,MATCH(Master!$B5,'2011-12'!$B$4:$B$7,0),1).
Yet, my problem is..... once I perform sorting in the mastersheet, the cells are wrongly matched. So, I just wonder how I can revise the function?

I have two worksheets, named as follows:
Worksheet1: SUMMARY
Worksheet2: ART 2013
'ART 2013' contains a list of staff numbers in column C16:C752 and a list of dates in column M16:M752 (formatted as "mm-yyyy")
Within 'SUMMARY' cell G12 contains the date 04-2013.
What I would like to do is achieve a function that will look at 'ART 2013' columns C and M in and where the date in Column M is equal to cell G12 (04-2013) of the 'SUMMARY' worksheet excel will return the Staff Number in 'ART 2013' column C.

making a roster file for our school clinic so that reports can be generated automatically and there are less hand-written records around.
I am having trouble with the 'Supplies' sheet, where I am attempting to sum up the quantities (column k) adjacent to all occurrences of a supply in Column J sheets 1 through 31. So that we can know how much of x supply was used in the whole month and so on.
=INDEX('24'!$J$3:$K$106,MATCH(B5,'24'!$J$3:$J$106,FALSE),2) Returns a value, but that is because sheet 24 has a value for b5, problem is if i use +INDEX and any of the sheets dont have a value for B5, the result is either VALUE or N/A
=SUMIF('1:31'!J5:J105,B6,'1:31'!K5:K105) gives a VALUE! error
I've also tried =INDEX('1:31'!$J$3:$K$106,MATCH(B5,'1:31'!$J$3:$J$106,FALSE),2)

I would like a macro that can match column A & column B data of Worksheet(WeeklyJob) to column A & column B of Worksheet(Master) then if match is found copy column C through column F into Worksheet(Master) column C through F (and overwrite any [outdated] existing data there may be in those columns [thus updating the job's weekly charges, etc.]).
If match is not found I would like it to copy entire row from Worksheet(WeeklyJobs) into first blank row at end of Worksheet(Master) (thus giving me a new record of a new job from the weekly report).
All the columns in both worksheets are labeled the same (& row 1 is headings).
