I have 6 worksheets in my file. In sheets 1-5, column A2:A26 list people's names. Some people's names appears on more than one sheet. Not all cells are populated with a value.
ex.
SHEET1
COLUMNA
Bill
[Code]....
My attempt was... =INDEX('Week1:Week5-!$A$2:$A$26,MATCH(0,COUNTIF($A$1:A1,"Week1:Week5"!$A$2:$A$26),0))
where the sheets were Week1-Week5 and the values on each sheet was A2:A26. But I think there's an issue with Excel being able to 3D reference for these types of functions.
I am hoping to populate a column with data from another worksheet. Basically, I have a set of columns, one for Location, Zip Code, Longitude, and Latitude. I want a formula to say, if the location equals X, then pull the associated information from the other worksheet. -- I assume it would be an if or vlookup, or combination.

I have single values in each cell in column A. I have 100 rows.
I want to take six rows at a time and get them to populate columns B, C, D, E, F, G.
Is there a simple formula for this?
I am trying to match info from one column with another column and if it matches, I need the formula to populate the relevant data from the adjacent column. I using Vlookup and I am not sure why it does not work. I have attached a simple example.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to populate a combo box on a form with the column name (A,B,C...etc) and the first row data. I need the code to check all columns in-case of missing column data.
Its important to note the data will be dynamic. In my add in, a form opens on requests and asks the user which column he needs to action data on. this could be on any one of several non similar spreadsheets.
E.G.: Combox to hold the following data (see column D has no data or header row):
Column A - Date
Column B - Rep
Column C - Customer
Column D -
Column E - Product
How can i pass this info to the form ?
I have a worksheet where I need to match the work items from Region A to Region B. If the work items match , then I need the formula to automatically populate the corresponding data in the next 3 columns as similar to Region A. I have tried searching the forum and but I could not work out the formula. I am not sure if the formula is Vlookup or INDEX/Match which both I am not well verse. I have attached a sample sheet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've created a single worksheet that is essentially a "dashboard" type of report that displays data for a single employee/person. This worksheet (let's assume it's my "template") contains formulae that is driven by a single lookup cell (in this case, the employee's ID, in cell, for example, A1).
This "dashboard" report (for just one individual) needs to be duplicated for the entire employee population (let's say ~100 people); this employee population is stored as a list in a separate worksheet, in a single column.
Is there a vba solution that will copy my template and populate the cell A1 (of each duplicated template worksheet) with the the employee IDs - of course, it would be ideal if the solution can search in my employee ID list and continue down until there are no more IDs and create the same number of worksheets as there are IDs?
Because the macro is creating numerous worksheets, is it possible to name the worksheets based off of an adjacent value (in the same sheet as the IDs) to each respective ID (I'm thinking of a concatenation of the employees' IDs and names)?
One major wrinkle in this process: the above process would be ideal if the "template" worksheet won't change (i.e. no changes to formatting, no additional data elements, etc.) However, it's likely that the client will want to add/remove/change items/elements to the "template" dashboard. Assuming, at this point, all 100 worksheets for each individual/employee have been created, it would be a huge pain to manually add/remove elements from each sheet. Is there another macro that would delete ALL employee sheets? That way, I can re-modify my single template and just run the original macro to re-create my duplicate sheets (but populated with different IDs) again.
I'm trying to make a spreadsheet that can be used to easily build a collective list of steps, for a user to read and follow line-by-line.
I want a source sheet of "steps" that I can change over time, and the resulting tabs that reference the source sheet get updated/populated automatically.
I've pieced together some VBA code from other sources, which kind of does what I want it to:
VB:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
If Target.Row > 1 And Target.Column = 1 Then
Dim SourceSheet As Worksheet
Set SourceSheet = ActiveWorkbook.Sheets("Steps")
Dim TargetSheet As Worksheet
Set TargetSheet = Target.Worksheet
Dim c As Integer
Dim Source As Range
[Code]...
But there are some problems:
1) The data auto-populates into a row. It would read better if each step was in the same column, meaning rows would need to be automatically added upon selecting something from the drop-down list. The number of rows that need to be added vary based on the number of steps in the source sheet, for the selection made from the drop-down list.
2) If you make a change to the source sheet, my goal is to have the other sheets referencing the source sheet's lists of steps update automatically, so you only need to update the steps in one spot and everything you've built from them gets updated instantly. Currently, you must select a different choice from the drop-down list, and then change it back, before it populates the "new" steps from the source sheet.
This is my first time using VBA.
What I have so far is attached: testAutoPopulate.xlsm
I'm working on a spreadsheet to measure performance.
Target is 10% and below
If actual is below or equal to 10%, then 100% achievement
If actual is above 10%, From 11% to 20%, then achievement is 90% and so on down until 0%
If actual is beyond 20%, then achievement should not exceed 0%

I have a spreadsheet with two columns - one with names, the other with values. In some cases, the values column alongside a name is blank. Is there a formula-driven method (not a pivot table) that could produce a separate list of only the names that have a value in the value column? The formula needs to be dynamic, not produced via a filter.

I want to keep all the alphanumeric to 15 digits only. It will delete the zeros not any other value which length is greater than 15 digits. If a length of a character is 17 digit it will delete 2 zeros & if it is 15 digit then keep it constant.

Each Dept.(Man. and DCC) has 16 hours available per day, M-F.
How can I chart or show somehow when a conflict arises? I need to outsource the excess time to another facility in a timely fashion.

The code segment from "Get Around Excels 3 Criteria Limit in Conditional Formatting" works perfectly if I type the variable directly into the cell, but not in a range of cells. That is to say, if I copy the source cell to a range of cells I receive a "Run-time error 13: Type mismatch" error". Is there a way to get around this? This is the code segment I've tried in the worksheet.

I am trying to find a way to code to replace any cell that is not blank with the text "LOA", then after I replace all blanks with "Active"
The Replace blanks is easy:
Columns("K").Replace What:="", Replacement:="Active", LookAt:=xlPart, _
SearchOrder:=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, _
ReplaceFormat:=False
but before this I dont really know how to quickly replace all non blank rows. Only way I know is to loop thru all cells in the column checking for not equal to "" then replacing, but the code above for replacing blanks is elegant, and only replaces in the used data section.
I have a colum of up to 5000 possible entries and I need to find the row number with last non blank value. If row 1 = 'A' , row 5 = 'B' and row 10 = 'C' with rows 2-4, 6-9 blank, I need a combination of functions to come to Row(10). The last value is not the largest and I can't use helper cells to get it into a sorted order.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need a VBA code to do the following:
- The active cell i.e. the selected cell can be anywhere on row 11 (this is a merged cell with row 12 but I can unmerge if causes problems)
- The filter needs to be applied to the rows below the active cell (at most this will be about 10,000 rows below)
- I need to filter for non-blanks only
- Above row 11 there is one blank row and a number of filled rows; these need to be ignored i.e. excluded from the filter
- In this case I will need the filter to work on the cell with 'France Trade Product' in it
- The filter would need to hide rows below this cell except for row 16 where a non blank is found
