Find Last Cell In A Row And Copy Data
Feb 10, 2009I am looking for a macro to do the below
copy range b2:b8 from sheet 2
find the first empty cell on sheet 1 row 2
paste values into there
I am looking for a macro to do the below
copy range b2:b8 from sheet 2
find the first empty cell on sheet 1 row 2
paste values into there
I am looking for a formula function or a vba code where:
- In workbook1 find the first cell that is empty between range A7 -
A10,
- In workbook2, in Range G10- G13: find the word "Day1".
- If the word "Day1" exists in cells G10 or G11 or G12 or G13, copy
the particular cell or cells where "Day1" exists to the first found
empty cell or cells in range A7-A10 in workbook1.
Lets suppose cells A8, A9, A10(workbook1) are empty cells, that means
A8 is the first empty cell.
And G10,G11,G12, G13 (workbook2) have the word "Day1"
Then,
Copy cell G10 into cell A8
Copy cell G11 into cell A9
Copy cell G12 into cell A10
I want to copy some data from internet and paste it in to worksheet location Range A1:A30. the data look like following information.
LocationKuwaitP.O.Box:4819 SafatAddress:ShuwaikhTel:-22253580Fax:-24343645Category:CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES
the above information have following header ie. Location, P.O.Box, Address, Tel, Fax and Category.
every time one of the header inforamtion is missing ie. Address or P.O.Box, Or Fax, due to this problem every time cell address of information aganist header is change. supose in first copy/paste Tel inforamtion is in A15, but second time it may be on A13, and 3rd time it may be on A17 and so on.
I want to make a macro which search header ("Location", "P.O.Box", "Address", "Tel", "Fax", "Category" ) from a Range A1:A30. than down two steps to copy header information (75325412) and paste in fixed cell location C1:C5 (C1=Name, C2=Location, C3: P.O.Box, C4=Address, C5=Tel, C6=Fax, C7=Category) in same sheet. and repeat the steps to copy information aganist header from all header in Range A1:A30.
Let's imagine I have many informations about 'Domains' such as Emails, phones, etc. My lists are long and it happens very often that I have the same domain (row) many times. No way to remember each time if I already filled the informations for this specific domain before.
THat's why I want to know if there is a way that ALL the informaitons on the Row of : Domain A will automatically be copied to another row where it will find another Domain A
The Conditional formatting (highlight duplicates) do part of the job by telling me where are the duplicates, but i need the other infos to be copied.
What would the VBA code be to find the last row of data and have it copy range A2:E(last row)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a list of data by daily date only for days when the market is open. I need to select the data for each Friday (if the market was not open that Friday then I need to take the Thursday’s data) and copy that data into new cells thereby creating a set of weekly data. The daily data is in columns A to F and in rows 2 to 1400. The Friday data of each week is to be copied to columns G to L and to rows 2 to 300. I need to have the data without row gaps as I use this data subsequently.
I have attached a sheet with some daily data. I have manually copied a sample of Friday data to the desired location in red to show the solution I am looking for. An additional problem is that I need to copy across a daily moving average, from column F to column L, and being a calculation from daily data it does not copy and paste.
I have a "data" workbook with various data in columns. Need to create "master" workbook that generates 3 different reports. Need "master" to contain macros that searches "data" and generates report based on search.

I have a macro in which I have named a range of numbers in a spreadsheet, used the "find" function to find a particular number in that range, and now would like to copy some information into a cell in the same row as the found number. However, when I try to move over to the cell that I'm copying to, it only goes to the 1st row in the range that I have defined.
Here's the portion of code I think you need to see. Everything works...it finds a match...but then I don't know what to do from there to get the information to the correct row:
'Grab the 1st project number
Range("C8").Select
Do Until ActiveCell.Value = ""
If ActiveCell.Value "" Then
prjnum = ActiveCell.Value
Selection.Offset(0, 8).Select

I am needing to find a specific row of data in one workbook and, once found, copy and paste the values into another workbook. The worksheets in both workbooks are formatted exactly the same. Only the first eight fields of the row need to be copied (e.g. A7:H7, A150:H150, etc.)
Will a combination of VLOOKUP and ROW do this and how do I get them to work together? Once the correct row is found, how are the fields selected, copied and pasted into the specific worksheet of the other workbook?
I want excel to copy some data fram 5 defined colums into the first empty row in a list. The problem is decribed better in the attached dummybook.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to firstly find data in the main sheet which relates to the activecell and then I want to copy and paste that data into another worksheet.
The simplest of ways I guess would be the .xldown function however this seems to copy the blank cells as well as the cells with data, which is no good. I have therefore written code as below which finds the first cell with data, copies and pastes, then loops.
How do I set the loop to look at the next cell down from the initial copied cell and if there is data in it to paste it into the cell underneath the one I have just pasted into?
Range("D3") = ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1)
SheetName = Range("D3")
ActiveCell.Offset(0, 2).Select

In table 1 you will see that not all rows contain data (this is because i have removed it previously with a macro) the second table shows what i want the macro to do but without deleting rows:
A
Hiddenrow with formula
B
C
[Code]....
So basically i would like a macro to search for the first none blank value in column A and copy the row to the first available blank row , it also needs to blank out that row once done. i.e row 3 would be moved up to row 2, 5 up to 3, 7 up to 4 etc etc.
The hidden rows contain formulas which cannot be deleted or my ws goes Pete Tongue.
Dim lCount As Long
Dim rFoundCell As Range
Dim sfind As String
Dim cl As Range
Set rFoundCell = Range("A1")
For lCount = 1 To WorksheetFunction. CountIf(Columns(1), TextBox1.Value)
Set rFoundCell = Columns(1). Find(What:=TextBox1.Value, After:=rFoundCell, _
LookIn:=xlValues, LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, _
SearchDirection:=xlNext, MatchCase:=False)
With rFoundCell
End With
Next lCount.........................
this macro looks up in column A (a list of names) the name entered in textbox1 (of userform2). if found - the value is "copied" to E13. (if not - showes message - " does not exist") for example: it found the value "Dainna" (which was typied in textbox1) and copied it to E13. i want the macro to keep on to the next cell (in the row where Dainna's in- B3) and copy the age to F14.

- I copy some records from a Database into an Excel sheet in workbook (say W1) in the Worksheet WS1.
- The i look up for values in a column (say column B) of W1 in another worksheet in another workbook(say W2) .
- If i find a match in Workbook 2(W2) ,Worksheet 1 , Row 2, Column A ; i look at the values in the Column B, F,G on the Row 2 itself.
- Each of these values can be found in the corresponding Worksheets 2;3;4 in the Workbook2(W2) .
- Then i need to pick up all these values from worksheet 1;2;3;4 in W2 and contatenate them and put them in the Workbook W1 against the Row .
- Similarly i process all the non zero rows in the workbook W1.
I've got a range of data in Column D approx 50,000 rows long and I need to go down this range and when theres a blank cell copy the info from the cell above. I've got some code which loops through this but I need to make sure I put "EOF and the bottom of the info to stop the loop. Is there a slicker way of writing this code?
Code:
Sub TestBlankCell()
Range("D5").Select

Here’s what I want to do in VBA
1. Put a value in cell H1 (text and numbers)
2. Find a matching value in column A (starting in row 2), error message if the is not a match.
3. Copy the adjacent cell column B (rows vary) to the clip board. It would copy until it found the first blank row.
I have attached a scaled down version of the spreadsheet, the one I use has 100's of codes. I know some VBA but not much. I searched the forum but could not find anything.
I have found many posts similar to what I am trying to accomplish, but nothing that I have been able to modify and make work. I need a VBA script that will find a cell with the text data "Difference" and copy the adjacent (to the right) cell's data. I then need to find a cell with text data "Ops" and paste the previous data to it's adjacent cell.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to modify the following code to find the value "Module Index" in column A. I then need the code to save the row number that the value was found in and copy a range from ("A2:V row number")

Set intFindrow = wbTargetBook.Sheets(strName).Range("A:A").Find(What:="Module Index", LookIn:=xlValues)

I think I am closer but how do I get all of the data from A2 in the origination worksheet and then copy it to the last blank cell in column A in the destination sheet?
Code:

I am going to explain the issue with a photo linked below

Basically i want to match data from column one with data from column 3 if true then copy the data in column 2 to columns 4 in the same match row.
I have the following code, so far:
Code:
Sub CopyPasteValue()
Dim ARow
Dim AColumn
Dim BRow
Dim BColumn
Dim Value
AColumn = 1
[Code]....
What I want it to do is to start in cell B1 and look down until it finds a non-blank cell; copy the contents of that cell. I then need it to go to the same row Col A and go down from until it finds the first non-blank cell then paste into the corresponding cell in Col B. It should continue this way through the rest of the worksheet. There is no set pattern to say to go down 5 rows or such. Also the number of pastes in each step is variable from 1 to ??
In my worksheet, the first non-blank cell in Col B is cell B3 and the first non-blank cell in Col A is A7. The paste should occur in cells B7:B10 because the next non-blank cell in Col A is A11.
I have a list of values that are the following:
Column A: City Name
Column B: Distance to destination
Is there a command to find the minimum value in Column B and then copy the corresponding city name into a cell of my choosing.
Problem: Unable to retrieve last cell value in both columns A and B with the following formula.
Range("A2:B2").End(xlDown). Copy
Presently this only finds the last value in column A and copies that value.
Would like to know how to modify/change the range to look for the last cell in both columns A and B?
I have a spreadsheet formed from a text file.
I want to search for each instance of "DOG" in column A, and copy the row below it and then paste that entire row to a new sheet called DOG. I can then autofilter and use a pivot table on the DOG sheet.
I cant just use an autofilter, because the row below can and sometimes does appear elsewhere in the spreadsheet, but refers to something else. It is all because this is an imported text file.
I have attached the spreadsheet to show you what I mean.....
here is the code I have so far, modified from another thread I posted.
Sub dogs()
Dim rd As Worksheet, dg As Worksheet, i As Long
Dim fRng As Range, Crit
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
Set rd = Sheets("Pets")
Set dg = Sheets("Dog")
The attached is a very cut down version of my spreadsheet...
I have small problem to solve and I can't find out how: I have to find cells in a range (L4:L20) with value PM and copy range with two next cells to cell F4 (not a cell with "PM") If in range("L4:L20") cells = PM then copy range with next 2 cells to ("F4"). See attached worksheet.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat I have is a collection of about 500 .xls files that I want to import into a single worksheet in a new workbook, but I only want to bring in specific cells from the source sheets which are unfortunately not always in the same row numbers.
I have found this link on loops:
http://www.ozgrid.com/VBA/loop-through.htm
Which looks like it will do the work of digging through each workbook in a certain folder, but do I need to further specify a sheet within the workbook once it's opened in that loop code? Even if there's only one sheet in each source workbook? The sheets are named differently in each workbook, so that may be a problem.
Now the really complicated bit (I think) is the conditional stuff. Each source sheet is three columns (A, B and C) and I want to import the string (some will be numbers, some will be text) from the C column to a single row of the destination sheet, but only if the string in the source's B column matches what I'm looking for. There will actually be a few dozen of these conditional searches based on different strings from the B column, but if someone could just show me how to do it for a single string, I can expand that to all the other searches I need to do.
Let's say the search term is 'Application ID,' how do I look through the source worksheet for that string in column B and if I find it bring the string from column C on the same row into my destination sheet?
I'm trying to create a database which can analyze data for my thesis.
The idea is the following:
I have all data saved on multiple work sheets in one workbook.
I would like to use the find function and when I search for specific data this is either summarized in a new sheet or else can be printed.
Im going to try to make this as clear as possible. I cant use my actual data because it wouldnt make any sense to anyone so Ive made up an example problem. Here goes...
Lets say in Sheet 1 I have two descending columns of data. Column A is MODEL of Vehicle (Civic for example). Column B is vehicle identification number (xxx for example). Sheet two has 4 columns of data, but only one is really required for this example. Cell A1 is the MAKE of vehicle (Honda for example). Directly below that in Cell A2 is the MODEL of the vehicle (Civic). There are then a few rows of empty space until it gets to the next vehicle MAKE and MODEL.
So in Sheet1 there is a long list of MAKE's in ColumnA and VIN's in ColumnB. Sheet2 Has a long list of MAKE's and MODEL's in ColumnA and random data in other columns.
What I want to do is assemble a Macro to start in Sheet1-A2, read the MODEL then copy the corresponding Vehicle Identification Number in B2. I then want it to go to Sheet2-A2 and start searching downward until it comes across a matching MODEL. Once it finds the match I want it to step downward 2 cells and paste the Vehicle Identification Number. Then return to Sheet1-A3, and repeat the process until EOF.
