Matching Ranges In Different Sheets And Then Copying Certain Cell Value
Apr 25, 2009
There are two sheets: Sheet1 and Sheet2
Columns in Sheet 1 are the following:
company PERMNO number, dates, market capitalization (no data in this one)
Columns in Sheet 2 are the following:
company PERMNO number, ticker, dates, market capitalization
In Sheet2, there is a whole range of dates (between 1990 and 2004) for every single company, whereas in Sheet2 there is one or 3-4 dates for a every single company.
I would like to match the exact date/dates in Sheet1 in the range of dates in Sheet2 and then if they match, copy the corresponding cell value from the market capitalization column in Sheet2 to the empty market capitalization column in Sheet1. I also want that the company PERNO numbers match.
In short: if PERMNO numbers match, match the date/dates in Sheet1 within the range of dates for the same company in Sheet 2 and copy the market capitalization value to Sheet1.
Example:
Sheet1:
A B C
1. PERMNO DATES MARKETCAP
2. 13123 199803
3. 13123 199904
4. 65456 200005
5. 44550 200104
6. 44550 200211......
If the name in Column F of "Sheet1" is found in "DataPEs" in Column B, then copy the block of 6 cells of data below it in column Q to column D of "Sheet1" in their relative rows. Additionally, if column Q has data then copy it, if not then copy the data only in column M. Finally, the number of matching names will vary in Sheet1 but will stay mostly the same in the DataPEs sheet. I've highlighted one block of data in green as an example.
This should be a fairly simple question, I've already got the code for copying sorted, I'm just curious about several of the named ranges within the sheet and what happens to them when I copy it all over.
I'm working from a spreadsheet made by my predecessor and they've got a template sheet with numerous named rages all scoped to the workbook, on the new template I've created, it has lots of ranges scoped to the sheet itself. The new template works just fine as it is but I just want to try and make sure that when I change over the templates it will continue to work fine and the current template's named ranges are going, so far I have actually copied everything and are running tests, but you can't test for everything, so if the named ranges on the new template being only scoped to the sheet will affect it at all?
I have two tables, Table1 one has only customer codes in it, and I have Table2 with plenty of customer codes and those customer name, surname, age, location...
And I want to match and copy each of those customer codes in Table 1 all the information which is on Table2
Table 1: 50025 50026 50086
Table 2: Considering that name, age and location is each in separate cell
I have a workbook with multiple worksheets. Each worksheet corresponds to a certain store fixture estimate. Ont these sheets I have a specific cell where you can input how many fixtures of that type are to be used.
On that sheet also, is a range of cells (ex. Range("A65:F3340")) that needs to be copied to a new summations sheet of total hours to build the project.
If sheet 1 has 1 fixture - the macro should copy the range of cells only once. Sheet 2 has 4 fixtures - tha macro should copy the same range four times appending each set of data tot eh end of the previous, And so on for each fixture sheet.
I am working on a project to import cellular phone usage data from Sprint into a workbook.
All cells in Column A are blank. Column B contains 1 instance of the cell phone account #, followed by dates of calls made, which continues until the next cell phone account # appears, and it’s calls made. The # of calls made obviously varies per account #.
The dates are in date format. The cell phone account # is in text format and is formatted with blue fill.
I need to copy the cell phone account # into column A for each line that has a date value in ColumnB, but the value copied must change when it reaches the next cell phone account #, so that the calls are matched up with the cell phone account # and can be imported into SQL.
Acct # Date Time City Called from State Called From Called # City Called State Called................
I have a workbook that I'm trying to figure out. It was made by a previous employee. This is what the formula looks like =MATCH(B49, OFFSET(Array_Data,,2,,1),0)
Array_Data consists of cells $H$4:$DN$506 on a different worksheet. I've tried to trace the formula but I can't get it to work. I thought I understood the offset function but I've never used it with a named range. Does anyone have a clue on how I can break this down and figure out what cell this data is refering to?
I have been searching through the forums for examples and haven't been able to find exactly what I am looking for.
Ok here is my issue. I need to compare the Conf # and line number on both sheet 1 and 2. So basically if the Conf # and the Line number match between page 1 and 2 then it copies the Conf #, Item Number(Sheet 1), and Detail(Sheet 2) to sheet 3 in a row. This needs to continue till the end of the Sheet 1. I have a pseudo report created with no code because I don't have a clue as to where to start.
I have merged 336 individual spreadsheets into one book, now I want to merge the data in all the sheets into 1 individual sheet. All the sheets have the same size and range, I need to copy a constant range(row, column) from all the different sheets into one.
I have a collum (A )with numbers and in other sheet have a collum (B)with numbers too.. and some numbers match. what i want is in the cells that the numbers match have other colum and i want to copy that number to another cell.
I have the following code which takes a unique value from 'sheet 1', and searches for the value in 'sheet 2'. If there is a matching value in sheet 2 it will copy the full row into sheet three.
I need to extend the code so that all values from 'sheet 1' are copied to 'sheet 3' even if there is no matching value in 'sheet 2'. If there is a matching value in 'sheet 2' however I need the entire row to be copied to 'sheet 3'
Sub moving() Dim c As Range, d As Range Worksheets("Sheet2").Activate For Each d In Worksheets("Sheet1").Range("A1:A500") For Each c In Range("A1:A15") If d = c Then c.Resize(1, 70).Copy Worksheets("Sheet3").Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues Exit For End If Next Next Application.CutCopyMode = False Worksheets("Sheet3").Activate Range("A1").Select End Sub
hello. i'm new to excel and i'm really hoping for some serious help here. i have the basics down however i'm really stumped at this point. Let me try to explain my worksheet. the worksheet has a sheet for data which is used for drop list values in the new patient template sheet. the new patient template which is just that a blank entry sheet that the user duplicates and adds a new patient to the worksheet to track the visits made by medical staff. there could be over a hundred new patient sheets (each named by the patient) at any given time.
here is what i need help with: my sheet is setup on a monthly basis so each patient has a total of 4 - 5 weeks listed with entries for everytime a nurse visits that patient. what i need to know is how to search the cell entries for the first time a visit occurred and the date it occurred and this needs to be broken down by the 1st of the month - the 15th and then again for the 16th - the end of month for every patient sheet in the workbook. the ranges are not together that i need to search for example f14:f20, i14:i20, f35:f41 and so on for the first 15 days of the month. this all needs to happen like in a macro or somehow automatically.
I need a formula. Probably Vlookup. I'm having a LOT of trouble trying to figure out how to "phrase" the formula so let me explain what it is I'm trying to do. If a cell in Sheet 1 Column AS and a cell in Sheet 2 Column B match exactly, I want the cell in Sheet 2 Column C that is in the same row as the matched cell in Sheet 2 Column B to be copied into Sheet 1 Column BB in the same row as the matched cell in Sheet 1 Column AS.
For example, if cells in S1 Column AS and S2 Column B both have the name "LOS ANGELES" then "KLAX" will be copied from cell in S2 Column C (in same row as "LOS ANGELES") to S1 Column BB (in same row as "LOS ANGELES").
The data columns in both the workbooks are of same length,I just want to copy the corresponding columns from source to destination as per above referenced cells.
i wanna copy C and D columns in Sheet1 and insert these 2 columns (copy + insert copy cells function, not copy + paste) to all other sheets except Infopage sheet
I have created a spreadsheet which creates an average of feedback for trainers in a training company. The form adds up the feedback score into column L of the summary sheet and I have created a summary sheet which I want you use to calculate the average for each trainer.
I have cobbled together an array formula which creates the overallaverage for each trainer based on the named ranges entered via the form.
I am using Excel 2003. I have a worksheet called "RawData" which has a continuous list of invoices, I need to separate off the first invoice from the rest of the invoices into a new worksheet and call it "sheet1". The number of rows from cell A1 at the top left corner varies and is never constant from invoice to invoice however the last row of the invoice I need to move always includes the text string "NET PAYABLE TO".
So I need to copy all rows from "A1" to the row that has the text to a new worksheet called "sheet1", I then need to delete those rows only from the original "RawData" worksheet, leaving the remaining invoices in "RawData" intact. If it is helpful to you, the first row on every invoice has the text string "TAX INVOICE".
There are no empty rows between the "NET PAYABLE TO" row at the end of an invoice and the "TAX INVOICE" row at the start of the next invoice, so it is literally a continuous list.
Can this routine then be continued on all the other invoices in "RawData", copying them to new worksheets in the same workbook "sheet2","sheet3" etc until there is no data left in RawData, bearing in mind that there may be 10 invoices or 100 invoices in the "RawData" sheet.
I have a file with four worksheets. The first is the master sheet. The other three sheets we can call "SheetB" "SheetC" and "SheetD." The actual names are quite long. Column T of the master sheet (except for the header row) contains dates formatted as text in YYYYMM format. I need a macro that will copy the rows to the other three sheets based on these criteria:
SheetB - dates April 2010 or before SheetC - dates May 2010 to April 2011 SheetD - dates May 2011 and beyond
I am trying to copy and paste between workbooks that are defined in an array. However, I get an out of range error when the code first reaches the line Workbooks(Wkbk(WkbkNum)).Activate.
Sub Gather_Risks()
Dim MasterRow As Integer ' Declares row number in Master Worksheet Dim RowNum As Integer ' Declares row number in active array worksheet Dim Wkbk(13) As String
I've found some code which works to print certain pages with value in cell A1 but I need to print dynamic ranges on some of the sheets as they will have filters on so the rows ranges will be different each time.
So far this is what I have but the dynamic range part is not working:
VB: Sub Print_All_Worksheets_With_Value_In_A1() Dim Sh As Worksheet Dim Arr() As String Dim N As Integer
I have a cell (A1) that contains text. That text will match a single value in a reference list (i.e. range of cells e.g. Z1:Z26). When the match occurs (e.g. A1 = Z16), I want the format of the reference cell (fill color, text color) to apply to the cell of interest (A1). The reference cells are manually formatted.
I know that I could create a long list of conditional format formulas instead of using the reference, but it seems that there must be some way to tell excel: if the cell value contents are equivalent, the formatting should be as well.
programming 2 macros in a bank reconciliation sheet I am trying to create.
Basically the data consists of two sets: the ledger side and bank side. Both sides consists of multiple columns that include date, description and amount.
The following two situations can occur and which need to be covered with a macro.
Many to one matching When we make payments to say 100 different suppliers at once, the ledger side will show 100 lines with the different amounts. However on the bank side it will only show one line with a total amount for the transaction. As the description on the ledger side is the same for all transactions done at the same time, it should be possible to have a macro add these lines and compare the total with entries on the bank side. Once a matching amount has been found, the macro should place an ‘x’ next to all entries on the ledger and bank side, in order to show that these transactions have been reconciled.
Partial cell matching In this case we are only dealing with one line on both the ledger and bank side. The issue is that the description does not always perfectly match with one another. The ledger side might say ‘Brown Corp.’ and the bank side might say ‘Brown Corporation’. I want to come up with a macro that can recognize this partial match and still reconcile the lines by placing a ‘x’ to both the ledger and bank entry. The match however should be done with a combination of description, date and amount as several different bookings might be done for the same supplier in the same month.
I have two workbooks I am using. Essentially I am copying values out of one workbook, opening a second workbook, manipulating data and pasting it. Everything is working great but one issue! The first workbook has named ranges in it that I don't want in the second workbook (just values). I don't want them because when I try this operation the second time it asks if I want to use the same name or choose a different name. For some reason it is still copying over all the named ranges (all 343 of them!). Is there a way to not allow it to do that or simply just delete the names before I close the second workbook?
I have 2 sheets with lots of data in them. On the first sheet in the A column i have data that looks like this: 01234567 On the second sheet in the D column i have data that looks like this: 1234567 It's basically the same data except without the 0 in front. The first sheet has like 60k rows and the second sheet has around 18k rows. I need to find out what data from the second sheet is in the first one. I'm attaching an example.
