Matching Data On Two Separate Sheets And Copying From One To Another
Jul 16, 2009
If the name in Column F of "Sheet1" is found in "DataPEs" in Column B, then copy the block of 6 cells of data below it in column Q to column D of "Sheet1" in their relative rows. Additionally, if column Q has data then copy it, if not then copy the data only in column M. Finally, the number of matching names will vary in Sheet1 but will stay mostly the same in the DataPEs sheet. I've highlighted one block of data in green as an example.
I have a workbook with two sheets the first one is called "SDL" contain master data for three TEAMS (TEAM.A, TEAM.B & TEAM.C") and the second worksheet is called "SDL_Calendar" for graphical chart view.
I need Macro to copy the relevant column data from "SDL" sheet and paste into appropriate column in "SDL_Calendar" sheet then make separate sheets for each "TEAM".
I have attached the work book of what I am trying to accomplish.
Columns in Sheet 1 are the following: company PERMNO number, dates, market capitalization (no data in this one)
Columns in Sheet 2 are the following:
company PERMNO number, ticker, dates, market capitalization
In Sheet2, there is a whole range of dates (between 1990 and 2004) for every single company, whereas in Sheet2 there is one or 3-4 dates for a every single company.
I would like to match the exact date/dates in Sheet1 in the range of dates in Sheet2 and then if they match, copy the corresponding cell value from the market capitalization column in Sheet2 to the empty market capitalization column in Sheet1. I also want that the company PERNO numbers match.
In short: if PERMNO numbers match, match the date/dates in Sheet1 within the range of dates for the same company in Sheet 2 and copy the market capitalization value to Sheet1.
Example:
Sheet1: A B C 1. PERMNO DATES MARKETCAP 2. 13123 199803 3. 13123 199904 4. 65456 200005 5. 44550 200104 6. 44550 200211......
I have two tables, Table1 one has only customer codes in it, and I have Table2 with plenty of customer codes and those customer name, surname, age, location...
And I want to match and copy each of those customer codes in Table 1 all the information which is on Table2
Table 1: 50025 50026 50086
Table 2: Considering that name, age and location is each in separate cell
I am attempting to place a formula in cell b3 in the attached spreadsheet on the "sheet to pull data into" tab 1 (cell is highlighted yellow) to retrieve value in the yellow highlighted cell in the "Sheet that contains data" which is on a seperate worksheet within the same workbook.
The cells highlighted red in the "sheet to pull into" tab (cells: a1, a3, b1, and b3) are the criteria that needs to be matched to those cells on "sheet that contains data" tab in order to ensure the value returned is correct.Sample of problem.xlsx <----see the attached sample spreadsheet.
I have a raw data worksheet with 54000 lines, in the format of six columns
In Column A is the USER Name
What I would like with if possible is code that will move the six columns of data from each individual USER into separate sheets, using Column A as the basis of the new sheets, ie the last row for each user is when the user name changes to the next one.
I'm currently using the following code (that I found online) to take a list of data and copy it to specific sheets based on the values in Column C (there are only 4 columns in my data set). The issue I have with it is that it's meant to create the sheets from scratch every time. What I could like, however, is for it to copy the data to preexisting tabs that are already named with the sames values that are found in Column C. This macro will actually perform that but the down side is it wipes out everything that's on those sheets but I cant have it do that. Is there a way to either modify this sheet so it only copies the four columns and only pastes the four columns onto the sheets?
Sub SplitData() Const NameCol = "C" Const HeaderRow = 2
In the attached sheet, i have data in 2 sheets in the same fromat. Both the sheets are seperate reports.
Coloumn A is the list of Team Ids, Coloumn B is the Ids of people who are assigned in the team. Sheet 2 also have the same details with changes in the people ID.
i am trying to find if the people IDs in report 1 is the same in report 2. i need a formula that will check if the people ID is matching to the same team ID as in report 1.. If its not the same, the formula should be able to show that.
eg :
In report 1, "197595" in coloumn B is against "4011-11341" in Coloumn A.
I need to check if "197595" is against "4011-11341" or some other number in report 2. If "197595" is not against "4011-11341" in report 2, it should show me " Miss match". if "197595" is is against "4011-11341" in report 2 as well, it should show me "match"Project match.xlsx
is it possible to provide a formula to match as per the uploaded file. Data in Sheet one columns A and B, compared to what is in Sheet two column A I have a lot of data, and only need a Y for yes, and N for No as a result.
I am trying to find a way of comparing entries in one spreadsheet to another spreadsheet and generating a third sheet of those that do not match.
As an example, I have a spreadsheet of approved supplyers, with name, reference and date in each column, and a speadsheet of used supplyers, some with references and some without. I want to compare the supplyers used to the approved supplyers list by reference number (which are in the same format), and produce a third sheet listing all those that do NOT match e.g. unapproved supplyers.
I need to make sure that the third spreadsheet only lists each seperate supplyer once, even though they may have been used several times, AND it must also include supplyers without a reference number.
I will use this to compare many spreadsheets with the same data, but of varying length and would like to use a macro to perform this function.
Is it possible to have a single userform put data into two separate sheets within the same workbook.
I have a userform set up for entering client data into a quote register, with no problems ( sheet 1)
A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9
What I would like is for the data to also go to sheet 2, where I have a form set up to print off for our technicians to take on site.
The problem will be that I would like the data A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9 not to store on this sheet after it is printed, so the next set on entries , can be printed etc.etc
As part of report consolidation I need a Macro that can read through all the files in a particular location(Say a folder path) Pull the data for each unique products into separate sheet
In the example below : All the rows with "Chocolates to sheet 1" , Drink to Sheet 2 and so on Since the products in column 3 can vary the unique sheets need to be created at run time based on the source data
I am trying to use a macro to compare data from 2 sheets and spit out matching data in a third sheet. The first sheet has two columns of data. the second sheet has 4 columns of data. Only one column from sheet 1 and 1 column from sheet 2 will actually have matching data.
All other columns in sheet 1 and 2 are associated to the matching columns and must "tag along" into the 3rd sheet. I would love the third sheet to have a button that I just click and it populates the data.
The macro will be comparing between 50,000 and 500,000 items. Possibly a good book to use or even a referral for a proffesioanl or even some good heartedness,
I'm not sure if this is best handled in the Formulas & Functions section or elsewhere, but this is my best guess. I have a spreadsheet used for tracking hardware issues with data in two worksheets:
What I'm trying to do is find a way to extract from those two sheets the date, serial number, page count, and ticket number where the date / serial # are the same and dump this to a new sheet. I've thought that I may need to concatenate the date / serial number together into a single cell or something, but I'm really at a loss as to how to pull this data. Part of me thinks this should be done in SQL, not a spreadsheet, but that's how our reports are produced.
I have a workbook with 4 sheets one is called final and the other 3 are data1, data2, and data3. The data sheets have the actual data I am needing to pull from. Each has two rows of data: data1 has employee number in column A and employee code in column B. Data2 has employee code in column A and employee name in column B. Data3 has employee name in column A and employee email in column B. Now I need to pull the info form all three sheets into the sheet names final. So the final sheet needs to contain 4 columns for employee number, employee code, employee name, and employee email. The kicker is the data sheets don't line up with each other within each sheet it does but the first one in data1 is not the first in data3 and so on.
Does anybody have a code snippet to search and compare 2 sheets.
I want to read the value in a cell on the first sheet, then search the entire second sheet for a match, if it does match then copy the value from certain cells on the second sheet to the row on the first.
I have found the following code on this forum that has really worked well. This code matches the first two columns of two worksheets and inputs them into a third worksheet. But I need to be able to copy up to five more columns, a total of seven columns and have it input into the third worksheet. I am not sure what it means "For Each c In Sht1Rng". look at the code and advise me of what I need to do.
Sub FindMatches() Dim Sht1Rng As Range Dim Sht2Rng As Range Set Sht1Rng = Worksheets("Data1").Range("A1", Worksheets("Data1").Range("A65536").End(xlUp)) Set Sht2Rng = Worksheets("Data2").Range("A1", Worksheets("Data2").Range("A65536").End(xlUp)) For Each c In Sht1Rng Set d = Sht2Rng. Find(c.Value, LookIn:=xlValues) If Not d Is Nothing Then Worksheets("Results").Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).Value = c.Value Worksheets("Results").Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Offset(0, 1).Value = c.Offset(0, 1).Value Set d = Nothing End If Next c
I have tried a slew of different formulas but I can't seem to get the outcome I am looking for. I need to make a station comparison for an individual project build based off a master list. Sheet 1 has the individual build with column A as a part number, column b as a description and column c as a quantity required and column D is blank. Sheet 2 has a master list of every part we carry formatted as: column a as a part number, column b as a description, column c as a quantity required and column d as a unique station identifier for that part (which is always a number).
What I am trying to do is match the part number on Sheet 1 Column A to Sheet 2 Column A, and when a match is found, take the unique identifer under column D associated with that part number and have it displayed on Sheet 1 Column D.
Sheet 1 will change with each build, but it will always be the same format in columns a,b,c,d. Basically I have a format on sheet 1 for what is needed to build each custom kit (787 kits) and sheet 2 carries every part we offer along with the identifer in column d (always a number value). I want to create a formula I can easily copy to match the value in sheet 1 column a to sheet 2 column a and add the identifier from sheet 2 column D to sheet 1 column D. The average kit is roughly 120+ parts so doing that for each part 787 times will be a nightmare. Also in case this matters, sheet 1 column A will have the parts arranged in a random order based on what is desired for that kit. Sheet 2 column A has the part numbers in order from our lowest part number to the highest number (basically an entire inventory list sorted from lowest to highest).
Example
(For sheet 1, since it doesnt carry formating 11111111 is in column a, nut, flange is in column b, 1.00 is in column c and the output data i want would go into column D)
Sheet 1 A B C D 11111111Nut, Flange 1.00 *Starts blank* -looking for - Output from Sheet 2 Column D (1) 33333333Bolt, Squared 4.00 *Starts blank* -looking for - Output from Sheet 2 Column D (4) 55555555Bolt, Coated 3.00 *Starts blank* -looking for - Output from Sheet 2 Column D (2) 22222222Bolt, Hex 4.00 *Starts blank* -looking for - Output from Sheet 2 Column D (11) 44444444Bolt, Screw Type 2.00 *Starts blank* -looking for - Output from Sheet 2 Column D (3)
Sheet 2 A B C D 11111111Nut, Flange 1.00 1 22222222Bolt, Hex 4.00 11 33333333Bolt, Squared 4.00 4 44444444Bolt, Screw Type 2.00 3 55555555Bolt, Coated 3.00 2
i am trying to copy a data from another sheet, and i know to use "=sheetN!XM" but i have already renamed my other sheets, so i cant copy data from renamed cell using this command also by changing the command as the new sheet name...
i have 2 columns of data in multiple worksheets which i wish to copy into one column on another sheet.
i want to be able to click a button and have all the data compile with the item number and serial number into sheet "compile" no matter how many sheets i have (my current macro copys the sheets with a sheet prefix onto it, ive left 31 and 32 there) automatically. Ive edited compile with one sheet of data (note i just copied 31 to 32 - normally all data would be different, not a straight copy) to show what i am trying to achieve. the 17000 will stay the same no matter what, so i just used an IF function there. Basically the part im having issues understanding is how to copy data to the next blank space in the work book, as it wont always be full of data.
At the end of getting this part working i will set it up to automatically compile into a seperate work book as a csv comma delimited to upload to a database for stocktaking purposes - but i just want to get the basic copying working first.
I have two spreadsheets in the same workbook. Sheet1 contains statistics for teams and years. Sheet2 contains a listing of the teams in different orders.
How can I have excel copy a teams stats from Sheet1 to Sheet2 as it goes down the row? For example, A1 is atlanta 1996 so it copies a section of atlanta's 1996 stats to a specific range. Then A2 is detroit 2002 so it copies detroit's 2002 stats, and so on and so forth all the way down the list?
I am a beginner with VBA but I have experience with C/C++. I am just not sure of the functions for excel do all these things automatically and am having trouble finding applicable examples.
Given: 1.Four similar data worksheets (W1, W2, W3, W4).
2.Each worksheet has the same headings in row 1.
3.The data for each worksheet begins in column 2.
4.Each worksheet has an arbitrary different number of rows.
Problem: What code allows you to automatically place the contents of all four data worksheets (W1, W2, W3, W4) into a different worksheet (w5) with only one common heading?
Im looking for a way to copy all rows with data in them from row 3 to the last row with data to another worksheet. I would like to copy the data from ALL worksheets in the workbook apart from one called Grade Boundaries.
All the sheets have the same layout. I simply want to produce a sheet with the data from all sheets in one place.
I have a mastersheet with all the information and I want to be able to copy it to new sheets.
The four different sheets I want are: Male-Olympic, Male-Sprint, Women-Olympic, Women-Sprint. Is there anyway to go through the sheet, copy the rows, and paste them into their proper sheet.
I have a data sheet that I enter all data into. I would like to divide the data into different sheets depending on the month the job was entered. Please see a sample I have attached. I have tried to convert the month (colE) into a figure (colF). I am hoping the data automatically copies across into the correct month sheet or perhaps I can push a button and it will do it for me. Data will get entered on a daily basis by staff but only onto the main sheet, this will then by some miracle be duplicated into the corresponding sheet without loosing any data on the main sheet.
I am wanting to have a sheet that I use for reporting based on another sheet in the workbook but I want to exclude items that are closed.
The first sheet will contain all rows of data with a status column of either Open, On Hold or Closed In the second sheet I only want to have listed the items which are Open or On Hold, I want to ignore the closed items.
In the example enclosed, I only want rows 2,4,6 and 7, but NOT 3 and 5 due to status.
I'm looking for a solution for my worksheet. I've got a main tab in which contains deposit data, I need to take the raw data format it and break it down into 7 different tabs. Each week a report is exported and then one for the actual month containing all the data. I’m currently manually recording some formatting macros because I haven’t learned to write my own yet. The number of columns in this report is always constant but the rows vary depending on the number of deposits. I have 7 tabs where the data from the main sheet will be broken down in. In my spread sheet I have the following headings. (A1)Date, (A2)Batch, (A3)Source (A4)Control (A5)Total Batch (A6)Total Variance
The information I would use to copy the rows to other sheets is going to be based on (A2).
Anything that starts with U65 would go into the U-65 tab. 1,7 or 8 would go to the lockbox tab. 2 or 5 = IN-HOUSE 3 = WIRES 4 = DATA OCEAN Eh, WH, or WE = ACH
Finally the variance tab will contain any rows which have a number other than 0 Positive or Negative. My biggest problem is that I never know how many rows the data will have so when I recorded my macro I Started dragging my formats to about row 200. It could one day surpass this number so If I had a choice id set it to row 1,000.
I have a workbook containing about 20 sheets. I need to find a way of pasting all the numbers in the A column in each sheet (sheets 1-20) to the last sheet so I get a great big list of all the numbers in the 20 sheets. How would I go about doing this?
Right now I'm cutting and pasting from sheet 1 to my last sheet, then from sheet 2 to my last sheet, then from sheet 3 to my last sheet... Is there a quicker way? The ranges in each of the sheets start at A2 and go down a few cells. Sheet 4 might have 4 numbers in the A column, sheet 12 might have 47, sheet 17 might have 8 and so on.
How would I go about getting all the A columns in the sheets to the last sheet?
I'll throw up a few screenshots if the problem is unclear
