In my workbook I have about 20 sheets (less in the attached sample), and on most sheets I’d like to query data for each day and find an average value based on the time and then copy that result into another sheet. I’m not sure if I’ll need 2 macro’s for this or if one can be used.
Here’s a quick description:
Assuming that I am currently in the sheet I want to run the macro, then I will either input “1:45” or “0:45” into a popup box, or I could always simply input the 1:45 or 0:45 in the code itself. I’m flexible
1:45:
If I input 1:45, then I’d like the macro to find the first 1:45 in Column B and the value in the same row in Column F will be used in the calculation. Once 1:45 is located, then the macro moves up to find 22:45 in Column B and the value in the same row in Column F will be used in the calculation.....

Ok, I for some reason just cant wrap my head around this. I need to to get the average time per call of two rows, but they are based on how many calls taken.
so in one column i have 50168 calls taken at 4:21 seconds per call. and in the next row i have 597 calls taken at 5:20 per call. I need to see what the new average will be with them combined, and I need it to display in m:ss form.

One of the reports I run provides me information on lengths of time. Such a field displays as |0:09:16| indicating 9 minutes and 16 seconds. However, when the report generates the excel spreadsheet it saves these cells in date/time format ([h]:mm:ss). If I were to convert this field to the number format (so I can manipulate and graph it) it displays as such |0.00643460648148148| Ideally I would be able to have the data in the field stored as |556| (556 seconds, or 9 minutes 16 seconds). I have thousands of fields that I need to manipulate where the data is stored in this format and I can not figure out how to fix it.

This sheet has several years of data so is full at 65,000 rows.
One issue is that there may be skip or gaps in the date sequence, so I can't rely on the relative position of cells to be accurate.
Thanks for any ideas!

If you have some low time resolution data you need to compare with high time resolution data how do you average the high resolution data. For example data that starts and ends a fortnight apart and you want to compare it with data that starts and ends 1 hour apart you need to average the hourly data to do so. I can't figure out how:
So if I had Sheet 1 with hourly data
A B C D E
1 Date, Time, Measurement
2 01/01/2014, 01:00, 62
3 01/01/2014, 02:00, 38
etc....
Then in Sheet 2, fortnightly data
A B C D E
1 Date on, Time On, Date Off, Time Off, Measurement
2 02/01/14, 15:23, 18/01/2014, 12:25, 52
3 18/01/2014, 12:25, 01/02/2014, 14:19, 34
etc....
I'd want to add a new column of data to average the hourly data so I can use the correl function.

I am measuring elapsed time for an event ie: began at 00:29 in ColA, ended 00:34 in ColB (or began 12:29 AM, ended 12:34 AM) for an elapsed time of 5 minutes. My result is being displayed as 00:05 in ColC which seems perfect at 0 hours and 5 minutes, but excel is seeing the result as 12:05 AM.
I have 20 rows of data and trying to get an average of the elapsed times in ColC
How do I get excel to read this as 0 hours 5 minutes instead of as the time of day?

I am trying to average times from one column that is the difference of two other columns (generally just minutes). It is formatted in a military time format.
However, I do have criteria it must meet from another column.
Ex:
Col A Col B Col C Col D
1 23:57 00:07 00:10 "=C2-B2+IF(B2>C2,1) fx I am using"
2 03:15 03:20 00:05
1 10:30 10:42 00:12
That's the basics, now I want to average Col D but only if it is a "1" in Col A. There are some empty cells, being its formatted for 100 entries. I can get an average of Col D and a count of Col A, but I can't combine them.

I work at a call center, and I need to find the average duration of time our employees spend on the phone. Here are some of the call times:
0:00:00
0:00:01
0:00:02
0:00:03
0:00:04
0:00:05.......
How would I find the average call time of these calls? When I use the formula =AVERAGE(Num1:Num2) I receive a # DIV/0 error.

I have a sheet set up with date in Column A, time in column C and numbers in column D, starting in row 2 down. I made a pivot table with the dates grouped by day, 7, to show a week and I can group the time by hours, 6am, 7am, 8am. but what I want to do is group the time for times between 2 times, like from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 10:01 AM to 2:00 PM and 2:01 PM to 8:00 PM, what I am wanting to do is group by week, group by the times above and average the numbers for that time. Is there anyway to do this in a pivot table? Or some other way? this is for use in Excel 2003

I'd like to search for a specific value like (1) in an array of cells like (A:A). The result needs to be the average number of a different column (B:B) in the same row as the searched value (1). And the resulting number should be rounded up to the nearest 10.
Example below: (Find value = 1 in A:A) ... 1 is found 4 times.
A | B
1 | 295
3 | 123
1 | 400
5 | 425
1 | 354
1 | 400
In the example above there are 4 (1's) found. By adding all the values in column (B) of the same row, we get 295+400+354+400 = 1449, dividing that in 4, the average is 362.25, rounding that up to the nearest 10... THE RESULT I'M LOOKING FOR IS: 370

I'm not sure if it's just been a long week but I can't get get the following to work in a sum formula.
In the example below I want to deduct B1 from A1 and then Divide by C1. The result should be 0.57 but I can't get to it within 1 formula.
9:49:12 - 6:18:46 = 3:30:26 / 2 = 0.57!!! Not sure if it's because I'm using unfriendly hh:mm:ss format but I need to.
A1 - 9:49:12
B1 - 6:18:46
C1 - 2

I have dates (column E) and times (column F) currently in the format mm/dd/yyyy and hh:mm .
However, my formula in excel deals with dates and times in the format mmddyyyy and hhmm. How do I change the values of the dates to exclude the "/" and the times to exclude the ":" operators?
I want to change the actual value of the cell too. Basically, using custom format mmddyyyy in the date column will not work (because the true value of the date will still yield mm/dd/yyyy.

Does anyone have an idea of how this might be done in VB?

I have a single sheet broken into multiple sections of 10 rows (see attached). The first 5 rows of the section are formatted and I need to Insert 5 rows underneath and format them the same. I can't work out how to do this for the different sections (ie: add 5 rows to section 1, then section 2 then 3). These functions will be on separate buttons to use multiple times. I would have used multiple sheets but the project calls for a single sheet representation.

I have used Formula to ID cells containing a formula to flag cells red with conditional formatting in a list that do not have formula.
I need a single cell to change colour if any of the cells in the list do not have a formula. e.g. the subtotal in the top row could go red so the user can scroll down to find individual red cells.
Is there a way to count the red cells without formula in the list - Conditionally formatted cells are hard to count. I don't want to use a vba script to do it as the user probably won't run it and auto run slow calculations down.
Is there an array formula that can return true or false if not(CellHasFormula) is true anywhere in the list?
countif(AH1:AH2976,CellHasFormula) doesn't work.

If you look at schedule.jpg you will see a how our work schedules are formatted.
Then if you look at schedule2.jpg, you will see what I wish to convert it to.
Now I'm looking for a way to search by the name of our employee (2 seperate sheets) and then by the time which corresponds to the first "1" in the chart under that name and the last "1" in the chart under that name.
So once I fill out our schedule.jpg, it will auto-populate the times on schedule2.jpg.
Is this even possible?
If necessary, I will be able to put both schedule and schedule 2 on one sheet.
On schedule.jpg time starts at 7:00 - Column C
and ends at 8:00 - Column AC

I'm usually able to find my answer but I couldn't find anything to match what I need. Anyway... this is either really simple or impossible to do. I have two cells which have times in each. Say A1 has 5:00 PM and A2 has 10:00 PM. I'm just trying to make it so one cell will say:
From 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM... So I tried this ="From " & A1 & " to " & A2
But as I'm sure you already know that yields this result:
From 0.708333333333335 to 0.916666666666668

I get a spreadsheet downloaded to excel with a variable of 15 names.
I want to create a formula that if the name Cleardale appears to take the time responding in cell BD and subtract it from the time available in cell AV so that I have the time on task and then to add up all those times in a total time on task for all cleardale listings for that day. The times are listed in the 24 hour format. I keep getting errors. Can anyone help me out on this one? The range of the cells is from AV7 to AV500 for available time and BD7 to BD500 for alert time and the range of the names is cell f7 to f500.

I'm looking for a formula that will calculate the difference in times between specific times while working with a 24 hr clock. Please see details below:
E3 provides the start time of 4:00
H3 provides an end time of 15:30
If an employee works betwen the hours of 0:00 (midnight) to 5:59, this is considered DIFF hours and is therefore the number I am seaking. So for the data noted above, the total DIFF hours worked is 2 hours.

E10 needs to show the average of the numbers that are in E11 through E24, and just ignore the errors.
I have many columns like that - where the errors need to show and I need to show an average of the number/values that do appear, ignoring the errors.

I thought I found a formula that would work, but it's not working. Each month I have to count the number of service tickets that have arrived between certain time ranges. They want to gauge during what times we seem to get the biggest batch of service requests.
6 am to 10 am
10 am to 5 pm
5 pm to 6 pm
6 pm to 6 am
The format of the cells are:
1:21:19 AM
1:28:08 AM
1:35:48 AM
1:49:19 AM
2:17:02 AM
7:14:38 AM
7:29:12 AM
8:08:28 AM
8:51:48 AM
8:54:19 AM
The formula I tried for 10 am to 5 pm: =COUNTIF(B2:B677,">="&TIME(10,0,0))-COUNTIF(B2:B677,">"&TIME(17,0,0))
It gives a result of 676, and I know from manually counting that there is only 327 cells that have a time between 10 am and 5 pm.

If i >= 34 Then CPSCtphRMA.Value = WorksheetFunction.Average("G" & (i - 30) & ":G" & i)
The first line runs properly, but the second line bugs out with the error message "Unable to get the Average property of the WorksheetFunction class". I can simply do the math, but I thought that using the worksheet function would be easier than summing and dividing. I'm curious, though, as to why I can't seem to use the Average function.
